I agree that this is a great thread. I'll be curious to see how many recommendations come for the Sony R550 vs. the LG LA6205 series. I'm looking at something in the 50" size, perhaps in the next few weeks, especially if there are some good sales during Thanksgiving.

Great thread for me to keep an eye on along with the "what's your favorite Plasma" which I'm up in the air with, deciding on a great PQ LCD in a larger screen size for my seating distance of 12-14' away in a semi well lit living room rather then going with the great PQ of a 65" Penny or Samsung Plasma?? Just undecided whether I will not be happy with a 65" and need to go with a larger LCD??

I have a Sony XBRX65 900A 4K TV.

I love the passive 3d and the 3d simulation. I also love the Sheer Intensity of the PQ, and color depth.

HOWEVER!!

if someone put a gun to my head and said "you must choose another tv"...

I would get a Vizio M series. I would use the Oppo 103 to do the simulated 3d that's all...

For the price and features, the Samsung UNF6350 series from Costco is hard to beat, especially if you can nab them on sale. Unless your real anal about picture quality. Just got one this weekend to replace my old reliable Sony 3LCD from now ancient 2006 and I cannot believe the difference.

I thought about the Vizio M series but i'm still not sold on Vizio, considering how up and down quality their Tv's tend to be, the apps are always out of date and i've never heard good things about their remotes either.

Samsung F5000 for those on a tight budget and not in need if any smart tv functionality (you might already have a mediaplayer etc. then why would you need this on your tv?). The picture is crystal clear and can be calibrated very well.

I'm a gamer so after months of research I have to go with the KDL-65W850A hands down . The KDL65S990A is not worth 1500 bucks more I don't think. And the KDL-70R550A picture quality was not good. I would pay 400 bucks more to have a great movie AND gaming experience at 17-19ms input lag.
