This is funny! I posted this last year and well, lets just say that this went out the window kinda. I managed to do some things around the house, but I also did a lot more to the theater. Eight more subs and four more dedicated circuits and two more amps! LMAO, why do we always seem to make resolutions that are so hard to fulfill? I actually might have gone from 7.1 to 11.9 since then too, but I just don't remember the date that I did that. Oh well, I guess it will always be like this and need to not make irrational resolutions about the theater any more lol. That being said, I am NOT making a resolution this year.

Oh, and I'd like to purchase my own DISH equipment, to avoid the extra $30/mo fees.

I spent a few hours the Sunday before Christmas tearing my media furniture apart and rewiring everything with neat and bundled wires/cords.

So congrats to me for following through on my 2002 resolution

Purchasing your own equipment doesn't eliminate any fees. They just give them a different name.

Well...let's do this then.
For 2015
  • Upgrade my main Dynaudio L/R speakers to the next size larger.
  • Paint the room a darker color
  • Change the lighting to be more...ummm....more better
  • Swap out some of the sound absorbing for diffusion
  • Theater seating, it's so expensive and so big, I have a small room but with the right size seats I can do 2 rows of 2 seats.
  • A new OPPO player if one comes out that supports the new audio (11.1.4???)and UHD BD.
  • Doors for theater room
  • Some better work to pay for this stuff

Yep, a lot of this was on my 2014 list but:
  • I got 2 subs now! Not on 2014 list
  • I finished up the absorbing material, check that one off
  • I cut the cable cord, not on 2014 list
  • I got a new media computer, not on 2014 list

2016 or 17
  • New OPPO player if not bought in 2015
  • ~70" OLED (or equiv/better) TV to replace Kuro
Beyond
  • A new house or a new theater room as part of a remodel

Cheers,

Since its now early 2015 all I have to buy is a new Sub and continue to enjoy what I currently have. I see nothing I need or want in upgrades. So besides a new Sub I am all set.
