Agreed and congrats, awesome setup!

My basement theater is on a slab and, while the 2nd row platform will flex, is nothing like what happens in my IB backwave area with only 4x18" drivers running. Backwave is a storage area and my study, and formal dining room, is directly above it. When I stand in the study, or dining room, with a particularly good movie scene, like WOTW pod emergence etc, I can feel the floor literally dancing up and and down through the carpeting. Walls are mostly concrete, so I mostly just get seating, clothing and people that resonate. Next theater will be ON the IB and not next to it. smile.gif

The receiver has three sub outs. One is for transducer, the others are the left and right amp stacks. most pro amps have signal in and signal out so you can chain them.

Hey, Rob. It's probably too late but did you order this already?

If you have not then think about 2-4" panels of either rockwool or oc703 and suspend them at a 45* angle across the corners you intend to treat. MUCH more effective and possibly cheaper too.

It wasn't a heavy hitter :/

I still have to watch winter soldier, edge of tomorrow, and the new transformers. Those are supposed to be good.

Agreed! I felt the bass was not up to standard for such a flick. The bass was a little unclean in certain sequences. Enjoy!

The tsunami scene had a bit of rumble w/ my transducers, other than that, was surprised. That flick had a lot of potential for bass. Oh well.

Cheers.

It's loaded with clipping unfortunately.

Does rock the place but it could have been much better. Usually the case these days.

Well, I don't really see the point at all of having a powerful system like that in your home.

Headroom, dynamics, Low, low frequencies all require POWER!!!

Don't knock it until you've spent time listening to a reference system!

My point was very clear if that home theater is being used in a home setting this system that I've seen is way too powerful. On the other hand, if it's being used in a larger area that's fine.

You're welcome.
Certainly that is a complement to the owner.

But what is 'too powerful for home' mean? That's a vague assertion. I didn't know there where objective lines for 'too powerful for home' or an ideal power:room size ratio / formula?

I think my amps, at full power, add up to almost 20,000!

So tell us about your system and room characteristics so as to get a feel for an ideally equipped / powered room. !

The reason for the high wattage of the system and the size of the speakers is to reproduce Bass in the single digit Hz at 115dB or higher. The lower the frequency the more power is needed to move the drivers enough to generate the proper SPL. It isn't like anyone is trying to listen at 200dB.

Thank you for bringing your wisdom to this forum. Since you are so well versed and far more experienced than I in this area, I have decided to sell all of my speakers and subs and replace them with a soundbar.

I don't have a home theater system at home, however I have a LogitechSpeaker System Z623 that I use it on computer as well as my piano. To me this thing provides me enough sound, I have to keep the volume at a reasonable level so that I don't disturb others. I was wondering by having such a powerful system how do you get around with it?

Doesn't the area where these speakers are tremble with they are being played?
