You were looking at one as you typed your post. The cutover from the old system appears to have been done without sufficient testing, leading to a host of problems that should have never occurred, but once implemented properly I suspect most will find it easy to do almost everything they need to. The image situation is an example of something that sorely needs attention though, so there's certainly more work to be done.

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

It's much better with the sidebar disabled. But why is that option hidden under Edit Your Details instead of Edit Options?

Can you whip up a solution for me that would allow me to bookmark AVS Forum Postedin for an off line view page.
As it is now, when logged in the URL for seeing my post is thus: I've attempted to use the Advance Search to obtain similar to bookmark. Yet it expires and becomes invalid. Surly I have a unique #ID that could be formatted to return results in this php rich environment.
Thanks in advance

I won't claim to know what monies AVS and VerticalScope Inc. need to keep the lights on, yet it is this users opinion that that sidebar will dumb down the AVS community.

Viewing in Guest mode one is, as deemed economically and aesthetically pleasing forced to log in so it will not wrap/overlap/overlay/dominate onto the meat of this once rich resource.

Maybe it's already been asked, or maybe I have a setting wrong, but is the butchered video embedding going to be fixed? It's an Audio/Visual forum and we're posting 4x3 videos, actually it even looks like somebody using a cell phone improperly instead of turning it sideways???

Also, to echo VisionOn on the quoted post display, the quoted poster's name needs to be embedded in the quote as well, it looks disjointed and confusing having the name outside the box with the quoted text.

I'm currently the designated curator/steward of the Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD - HDTV thread in the Local HDTV Info and Reception subforum. I had used the "Spoiler" function to suppress the longish "member submitted notifications" log. It appears to have become disabled. Is there a way to restore its functionality or to otherwise suppress that list?

Haven't thoroughly searched this thread but I miss being able to have more than 40 posts or threads displayed per page.

EDIT: I see they option to have 100 posts per page has been added. What about threads per page?

I've reported this, too.

The spoiler tags did not get converted correctly. I've heard no feedback as to whether it can be fixed post-conversion.

You can edit the post and redo the spoilers. The editors have a button for that, or it is easy to insert the tags yourself.

Another issue I've reported: spoiler text when revealed is now centered, which looks weird.

Go tp User CP>Edit Options>Number of Posts to Show Per Page and use drop down box, it allows for 5-10 post increments up to 100 per page.

Not sure if thread count can be changed.

Video is center-aligned as well instead of the previous left-aligned, of course if it was displayed in it's proper format center-aligned would probably be just fine.

I don't know if its been mentioned yet but I'm really happy to see the drop down menu back up and when you hold your curser over the forums tab. But its there a way to also get the secondary drop down menu's going again too?

For example when you hold the curser on the forums tab and then the drop down menu comes up and you can down to "Audio", it would be nice to have all of the secondary categories come up after that, like "speakers, receivers, subwoofers, DIY" without having to click on the Audio header and then waiting for that page to load and then drill into those sections. Again the old way just made it way easier to navigate the different forum sections.

Mark, it was also nice that when you were in a thread on the right hand side you could see pictures that had been posted in that thread. And then when you clicked on "see pictures" it would pull up all of the pictures that had been posted in that thread. Will this feature be back at some point too?

And it would also be nice to see the "AVS Club Member" banner under users profiles again, I know that it shows for the "Gold Members" but I don't see it for the club members. And seeing that they also contribute to funding AVS that would be nice too.

I appreciate the responsiveness. I can't remember if any vBulletin board I've used has had the option to expand beyond 40, but I would hope the option is available by whatever iteration the software has reached at this juncture.

In the old platform the "thread starter" title was on every post posted by the thread starter. I don't see that on the new platform. Now you need to go to the first post to remember who opened the thread.

This is better than bluray.coms interface?? I have both opened in separate tabs. I'm struggling to find even a single thing where that statement is true. Previous interface was vastly superior to bluray.com. Any other examples from that long list of yours?

Perhaps while your still in the "Find a Plugin" mode yet sure it will consume the much disabled sidebar <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: adv_portal_threadpictures_lean -->, you'll back up and be creative.

If your sure a plugin exist and that it's only implementation is on the sidebar, then so be it. However, if there are options on the aforementioned plugin, perhaps a trial run or test can be lined up for those of us that have been posting convening this missing jewel. IE:
<!-- <li class="vbmenu_control"><a href="http://www.avsforum.com/forum/">Forums</a></li> -->
<li class="vbmenu_control gallery"><a href="http://www.avsforum.com/photopost/">Gallery</a></li>

If the above post doesn't make the case for fixing the source name location in quotes then I don't know what will, I have no idea who said what in that post.

Is there a nesting problem as well as name placement?
