I'm still seeing a random number of (0) entries under "Attach Files" when simply browsing threads. Sometimes it's none, sometimes 2, 20 or 30.

I'm in the habit of going to the bottom of a page and then backing up to get to the last post, so I see them all the time. This is with Chrome, but I've seen it with other browsers.

I'm just using the forum default skin, and still seeing the list of Zeros.

It seems the tides have shifted, now I'm the only "normal" one! Good luck!

- They removed the clickable link yellow quotes
- No longer see tons of zeros on the reply box
- I use the dark skin

So far so good

In vBulletin, there is typically a time limit set which specifies how long after you create a post that you can edit the title/subject of the post. I think by default it's 15 minutes, which would mean that if you edit your post that created the thread within 15 minutes of creating it, then you can edit the title. After that time, you can edit the post, but the title can't be changed.

I don't know what AVS has the time set to.

Not sure what AVS policies are. If you click the report button (the ! in a triangle below your post) it will send a message to a moderator. I'm not sure if the mod team will have any issue with you using that function to communicate with them. Some sites consider that fine, some only want problem posts (spam, breaking forum rules, etc.) reported.

Yep, that's the stock vBulletin message that comes up when you click report post. It's not a message that anyone on AVS specifically posted to dissuade using the report post feature to communicate with mods about a post. Many sites consider it fine to click "report post" for something like a title edit or if you are asking them to delete your post/thread. However, I don't know what the AVS policies are.

I believe we've always been told it is a proper way to contact a moderator for any legitimate purpose. Examples: please move this thread, lock it because it is continued elsewhere, etc.

Going to user cp no longer takes me to my current subscriptions, I have to go to thread subscriptions and it shows all my total subscribed threads. How can I get to my current subscriptions only?

Edit-

Nevermind. I have to click on new subscribed threads now.

The search function seems to be seriously degraded on this new forum - is there w ay to search only within a specific thread? Advanced search options?

do you see a 'search in this thread' box towards the top right next to 'thread tools'?

I see it now - thanks :-)

I was amazed that they would have lost that search capability - it was one of the most useful aspects of the Forum.

Easy as Pie?
Took a bunch of time to find this, thanks for the guidance. Is that still the fastest way to do it?

You don't need to open the attachment, just copy the link. Right-click and "Copy link location" in firefox, for example.

The method varies by user and what device your on. I'm liking the mini popup window to drag from my desktop populated the main page. Then right clicking on the attachment area to obtain the url.

There are several posted tutorials:

Nice work, many thanks.

In my spare time, I should find or create a tutorial on how to better find tutorials.

You can do that , or create your own tags, view whats current in the Forum Information Center, and peruse the Test Post area for who's testing what, or just keep asking. Bill and I won't do you wrong.

Unable to post more times than not

I'm having a problem trying to post. More times than not I get an error message telling me that "more than two characters are required to post", and then I'm rejected. I think a paragraph or two is more than two characters. This attempt to post has been kicked back twice.

What also puzzles me is that it'll happen maybe six times in a row and then let me poste a couple of times before telling me to hit the road again, over the course of a couple of days.

I've gotten no advice by trying to contact the webmaster three times. Any help here would be appreciated.

See ya. Dave
