How do I upload a picture, like this?
[IMG] Click image for larger version

Name:	home theater.jpg
Views:	27
Size:	181.9 KB
ID:	111129[/IMG]

Okay I guess the IMG tags aren't necessary. Is there a way to display the picture larger than thumbnail size directly in the thread.

.......Wow. Just wow.

Classifieds broken, UI absolutely sucks, completely unintuitive. Drop downs gone. There is no other way to say it: This is absolute sh*t.

This is a huge step back in terms of functionality, usability and even visuals. Very disappointed.

I think the main difference is that Tivo forum has a better skin, and the strip at the right with advertising is not as wide. Both of these things do make it look visually better.

I see that, but I'm not sure if it's working. When I look at my own posts I don't see a "Like" button, but maybe that's because it's illegal to "like" your own post. I still also see a "Liked" field under my avatar on the left (see thumbnail). What do you see?

That's hard to do. I have long used the [img] and [/img] icons with a paste of the URL of the pic I wanted in between. But that process of manually doing it is tough on a phone or tablet up where you have to hit shift or change keyboard pages to get the special characters.
I'm a lot faster and more proficient on my desktop so for that I wouldn't complain.

But I think the majority of pics are posted from cell phones or tablets these days and pictures of gear or build processes make threads and posts better. It should be simple to add a pic in a reply and upload it from your cell. Like facebook. Just click pic and select the pic you want. Formatting and resizing and all the bullchit should just be do e automatically for you. It's 2014. Every app and forum and webpage has this functionality these days. 80 year old Grandmothers can send pics these days.

It's shameful if AVS doesn't have this conveniences IMO. I'll be patient because I know there's more coming and growing pains, but if the process of loading a pic into a thread and having it look great without much fuss isn't there in a couple weeks I'll be disappointed.

This one key feature has the ability to improve AVS or send it back to the Stone Age and really push away quality users and quality content. A picture is worth a thousand words.

what exactly is the point of waiting to post again too? I never understood that feature. If I can type a reply in under 60 seconds why wait for 60 seconds to pass ?

Another minor gripe...

Noticed that the thread icon legend doesn't display at the bottom of the subscribed threads page... Had to go poke around the general forums until I found the key... Believe it or not, i even checked the FAQ pages! (they aren't there...)

Nevermind... I'm seeing them now...

If the preferred method to get to subscriptions and other "pinned" important info is through Tools-> Quick Links at the top, can we get that navigation in the bottom nav as well?

I find it irritating to need to go back to the top of the page to navigate after reading a thread or posting, etc...

Alternatively (and maybe a better design all around) would be to freeze the top nav bar, and only scroll the content below that. This way the top menu nav links are always visible on the top of the page.

blah. what the hell did avs do? its like we went back 5 years. Every single thread I went in is EVERYBODY complaining on how awful the update made the site. I tend to agree. Does anyone test this before the rollout? Do the people in charge understand that the people on the forums, not them, make ot break said forums?

I know everyone will just have to get used to the new format but its to be expected in a drastic change.... Look at emotiva's forum. They changed it to a garbage new format and lost almost 2 thousand members because of how crappy it is now.....

I am on a lot of vb forums, some i have been on for 10 years. Some I have paid for, some I have not during this time on and off. But I have never been on a forum where it required me to pay to fill the page and not have a 1/3 of the screen just white screen. This just screams tacky to me and would be even more of a reason for me not donate. This is coming from a person who is willing to donate after a certain amount of time on forums and i have done so in the past on my other forums. As you can see from my time here I joined in 2007 but my post count has not really started until just recent.

Mark,

My bad, what I meant was when you look at the thread list page (like BD Players for example), I don't see threads that I have previously posted in and a link to my last post.

Mits 73835, Denon X4000, Emotiva UPA5 (triggered), Wharfedale Pacific Evo 40s, CS, 10s, the internet, a NAS drive, a TiVo Series 3 and an Oppo 103 (bye bye PS3). There's also a Wii, but we don't talk about that...

Somebody figured out how to read your last subscription post. Just goto the right of page in the user cp and click on the ">" it is small, but it will take you the last unread post in your subscribed thread.

No I am not speaking about Tapatalk. Before like in my case I use Android I would go to play store and download an actual AVS forum app to my cell. (Not Tapatalk) Once downloaded all you would do was login and receive notifications.

It's interesting that the mobile page's "subscribed thread" list is similar to the Huddler display; a list of subscribed threads sorted by last post time, unread ones in boldface.

Can anyone get the advanced VB search to work with the criteria of finding threads with at most 0 replies? There was way to view unanswered threads in the old site... when I had time it was a good way to try and make sure new users/threads got help.

Despite several attempts using criteria to show threads with "at most" 0,1,2 replies I keep getting search results that have threads with thousands of replies.

The value was set to 30 seconds, it's normally an anti-spam measure. I've lowered it to 10 seconds. That should hopefully resolve your issue @Mfusick

I might have missed it, but is there a way you guys can make all of the fonts look similar? It seems like there are at least 2-3 different fonts on some pages and that just looks really awkward - I'm using the latest version of Firefox. Thanks.

Q: Worth a thousand words? A: Pictures....btw,I like being able to title my post.

I miss ability to adjust picture resolution in post. A thumbnail is too small.
A picture prepped for width/height dimensions never needed to be clicked on and did'nt eat up a users display or look like this "wall of text". ie: width/200/height/400/flags/LL

MIA 1
Picture Gallery per forum was in upper right hand corner of each thread, this made it easy to learn and bounce to a specific post. This feature is not available in the thread. Picture Gallery per user/per thread in User Profile is gone. Views per image are only available per the New Gallery feature. Finding one's own images a task much easier with accessibility from user profile or threaded gallery linky. See Pic:

MIA 2:
The PM feature is misleading Granted I will fail a 5th grade math test, but this seems is off:

If the combined inbox and sent is 32, and the messaged stored is 111, where are the 79 that are accounted for yet not user accessible?

Prior to the Huddler transition we had a lot of very technical users who took great advantage of some specific vBulletin features that were lost in the Huddler transition. Unfortunately with Huddler it was a shared platform and many of the specific requests couldn't be fulfilled. There were no cuddles for huddles, that's for sure.

Most of what's being complained about now can easily be addressed through some modifications to the UI and the adjustment of features. The current platform is an upgraded version of what the site ran on prior to the Huddler upgrade, so many of the old features should once again be possible to enable.

VerticalScope: You may want to take a look through the old transition to Huddler thread to see what people were missing from the old vB platform: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/43-for...-platform.html

How does one turn off the feature that you get emailed when someone quotes you? I turned that feature off with the older forum software but can't find where to do it here....

VS currently the move to Vb has basically broken the Tapatalk functionality\display of the site. When people quote another user it shows as a "blank" post. In order to see what was written you have to select the post, then select "reply". If you need a screenshot of what I am seeing I can try to upload one for you.

Not sure why the drop down was eliminated...that enabled a user to fly through the site. Also, I used the history of my personal posts constantly. That being gone coupled with the drop down feature gone makes navigating WAY slower.

Still the best forum on the interwebs, but damn...this is going to be tough to get used to.
