If everything wasn't converting to HDMI exclusivity I'd be content as is. But my old and appreciated Onkyo 702 just won't let me progress. I'll need equivalent specs which probably means another Onkyo or better.

Did you check out the Western Digital My Cloud EX2? It supports RAID 0,1, DLNA & connects up to a gigabit, and you can buy it in a few configs including with no drives and add your own SATA drives.

Good point, good option. Thanks! It would mean some re-balancing of levels but once I do it a couple times it should be a no problem.

Im going to continue swapping out Polk Speakers with Paradigm speakers. The next big thing is to wait for a good $3K Ultra HD projector with a matching receiver. Key is to wait for the best time like I did with my current HD setup that's lasted me 7 years+.

No, I did not see that one. I pretty much know what I am getting though. I need RAID 5 anyway. In my thread I had a lengthy discussion with some one so I know what I need. Thanks for the tip though.

It's kind of scary because I am used to always needing/wanting to upgrade, but I think I am at a satisfaction point. I have thought about adding a 3 channel Emotiva, but I just don't think there would be much benefit. I currently have an Outlaw Audio 7125 running my 3 front speakers and the Denon X4000 powering the rear and sides. I thought about the Emotiva for the front SS and the Outlaw for the rear and sides. I just don't see much benefit.

Ask me again when there is solid 4K content and a good 4K projector for less than $5K.

My next purchase happened to be today. I was able to pick up a used Paradigm Reference Studio Series CC-690 v4 centre channel speaker. It replaces a CC-490 v5. The 690 is a beast!

Waiting to see what Denon's next offerings will be while keeping an eye to see how much the X4000 and the 4520 will drop in price before taking the plunge.

Why?!
I want a better picture. The Vizio Reference set that was on display at the last CES show got very favorable comments from many (I wasn't there). There has also been enthusiasm for the picture quality of Dolby Vision.

I voted speakers.

Here is a pic of my Def. Tech. PM1000/PC1000 setup, paired with my 60ST60, all of which I love.

Looking to upgrade the center to PC2000 and also eventually upgrade or add to my PS800 sub.

What plasma do you own? I highly doubt any LED this year will better, let alone match, the PQ of the high end Panasonic plasma's.

Panasonic 60ST60. It's a fine set, and I'm in no hurry to replace it. However, I am looking forward to the extra brightness that LED TVs can deliver, and the Vizio advertises 384 local dimming zones for its (forthcoming) Reference set, so there is reason to hope it will have good black levels. I have a Samsung LED 4k in another room, and I like it. It sparkles.

Guess I'm gonna break down and get a Samsung F8500 before they stop making them. Wish I could say long live plasmas but I don't think they're long for this world.

Huh, to each his own I guess...I have the same set and wouldn't dream of buying anything else anytime soon. For me the PQ still can't be touched (except for the step up plasmas), and I certainly see no need for more brightness.

This year I've already upgraded my fronts (Mirage OMD-28), my AVR (Onkyo 818), my subwoofer (PSA XV-15), external amps (Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 2), blu ray player (Oppo 103), added Heights (Mirage OMD-5) new tv stand, speaker wires, interconnects, room treatments, new leather seating (Flexsteel). I think next I'll either make a much needed upgrade to my display (plasma) or upgrade to the Oppo 103D and see if the Darbee is worth it.

Think of sun dappled foliage. Sparkling whitecaps against the azure of the Pacific. The metallic glint of a biplane navigating volcanic cliffs.
