Very seldom (<1x/yr). Though I think about it quite often.

I have a 7.3 cinema setup in a dedicated purpose built room.
I use that for movies.

However

I use a Oppo HA-1 and Audeze LCD-3 headphones for all music.
For music headphones are better.

Home theater, never.. Home, rare.. The only time I ever put on headphones at home is when I'm editing home movies.. The ability to hear precisely, is important when editing.

Almost never. And if that picture isn't staged and the dude is, in fact, watching baseball instead of paying attention to that vixen on his lap, I have lost all hope for humanity.

i only use my PS4 Gold headphones when playing PS4 while in bed.

i like the fact that it is wireless, and has a mic if i need to communicate to the people im playing with online. this is great as my wife doesnt hear the game sounds. we can even carry a conversation while i play, since i can turn off the mic (and just have one ear in the earcup).

the sound quality is decent enough, but i bought it more for the convenience than anything else.

{I guess from the 4 options up there, "occasionally" would apply to me as the closest one - so now I voted.}

<<>> Dolby Atmos might change all that.
I also voted "occasionally" though "rarely" would be more accurate. I just prefer the experience of listening to speakers over headphones.

Occasionally because the only time I wear headphones is when I play video games. And since my daughter was born, my free time (i.e. gaming time) has plummeted. BTW, I am not complaining simply stating a fact. She is amazing.

Occasionally

I responded Occasionally.

I use Sennheiser HD 800 coupled with HDVA 600 and switched out unbalanced cable to balanced. I run my source from Bluesound Vault to Oppo 105 optical in and play back music.

I use this set up for late night music listening in my media room. I never use for Movies or TV.

Cheers

Let me understand this: Your wife, who I'm assuming if female, plays Borderlands with you? I would assume there are other games, perhaps other FPS games, she also enjoys. If true, you sir have won the lottery

I have a nice set of Grados (SR325's) but they are in a drawer and seldom get used. I went through a headphone phase and had some nice cans come through (like my speaker journey ) but ended up with these when I got really serious about the Home Theater.

I use my headphones often for music when working at my computer (as I am doing right now), but as a substitute for HT sound, I voted "occasionally" (though even that is inexact). I never use my headphones with the HT gear itself, but I do use them with my laptop or iPad for watching stuff I have on iTunes or on Netflix (usually in bed--no TV in the bedroom).

I listen about 50/50 between headphones and my main system. I watched 'Avatar' and listened through my Alpha Dogs, and it was simply amazing.

I absolutely love listening to just about everything with my headphones, and they have reinvigorated my interest in the audio hobby in general. There are some amazing cans out there right now!

Haha just Borderlands and Portal 2 so far. She has as many hours into Skyrim as me too but sadly that's solo. She runs like 40 mods.

We are looking for another coop game to play if you have any suggestions.

I only listen to music with them and use surround wireless whenever I can with my XBox, PS3 and Dish receiver for movies.

I use a DAC/Amp from my laptop with high VBR mp3s with headphones from Grado, Ultrasone, Sony, Onkyo, AKG, etc.. I can hear so much more with headphones detail wise and the Dolby Surround headphones I have from Turtle Beach do a great job, especially since we have a unique room that would make an optimal surround system impossible to install. In that room, we've settled for a sound bar sub combo. But the surround headphones work surprisingly well. The model surround I have are the XP 400. I have it connected via Optical audio cable and a 4 way manual switch between my PS3, XBox, STB, and TV audio out.

I noticed Scott that you did not answer your own question. I would take a guess that you occasionly listen to music with cans.
I myself was considering buying a good set of cans in the $300-$400 price range but have backed off since I was debating with the exact question myself on how often I would use them. I have a list of toys I am considering buying and headphones have managed to put themselves at the bottom of the list.
So for now I would vote NEVER and if I do get a pair of headphones they will be strictly for music.
Maybe I am sobbie but I do not consider EARBUDS as headphones.

When I was a teenager first getting into HT, I used headphones all the time, because the powers that be (my parents) didn't exactly share my enthusiasm for my 7.1 bedroom system. Since moving out and into a house of my own, I have not worn headphones in a long time, other then when I'm flying.

I use them every single time I work out, without fail

This is why I voted "never"

only when i am working - my wife and i share our home office - we each have dual monitors - one for work one for steaming so she watches her thing and i use the head phones with mine - generally i watch shows and movies that i do not care about the home theater experience in terms of visual size and usually it is something that i do not need to be immersed in to enjoy and can watch half halfheartedly so i can watch an get the jist of it while i work.

Yes, "Turtle Beach Ear Force XP400 Dolby Surround Sound Gaming Headset". They work pretty well. (I don't care much for stereo headphones.)
