COZ, glad you got it working. I had to do the manual registry edit as well and have had no problems connecting since.

I got my "new" used 18G yesterday. This one was used for a while, but still in nearly perfect cosmetic condition especially after I wiped it down and cleaned it up. I was pretty happy when I received it. I'm happy to report that the wide touch buttons on this one actually work when you press them in the middle, unlike the last one I bought and returned that was marked as new on eBay. I got it all programmed last night using EZ-RC. I spent forever trying to find a "learn" option in this software for a few commands that were missing from the Xfinity X1 remote defaults (skip forward 30 sec, skip forward and back 5 minutes) until I finally realized that you can only learn commands when programming from the remote interface directly. Once I figured that out and figured out how to unpair my Comcast remote to get it to send out an IR signal again instead of just RF, I had it all done in a few more minutes.

It appears I can do pretty much everything I could hope for with EZ-RC, especially as someone coming from Harmony remotes in the past. What is the advantage of using Remote Master? I haven't downloaded it to try out yet, but am curious to know what people are using it for. Are there ways to use it to spice up the look/feel of the touchscreen commands? That would be cool, especially if people could post pics of what they've done!

Great! I'm hoping to jump into RMIR sometime next week, after doing more research on it. I have my ARXX18G set up with the exception of DirecTV RF. It's working fine with the Nevo REX-433, so I'm being a little picky to want it to work using the built in RF. I just haven't been able to get it to successfully work.

My Main Setup
Display: Panasonic TC-P60ST60 w/Acoustic Research ARRX18G XSight Touch
Sound: Yamaha RX-V375 / Pioneer AJ SP-PK52FS 5.0 / Dual SVS PB-1000s
Sources: DirecTV HR44/200 / Xbox One 500GB w/Kinect & 4TB External / 1st Gen Chromecast / HP EliteBook 8460p (Win10)

Very nice. Mine just showed up yesterday so I just got the IR setup last night. I'll try to get my REX-433 setup tonight!

I see reference on this page (http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/inde...sight_and_Nevo) that mentions direct RF control of DirecTV. Would this be possible with my Comcast/Xfinity DVR? It has built in RF, but the way it's working currently is only line of sight IR.

From my understanding, DirecTV is the only supported RF device.

The C3/18G controls the HR2x/H2x series of DVR/receivers directly via RF. It won't control the HR34/44/54 or any other RF device directly (including Comcast). DirecTV now uses Zigbee RF protocol instead of the old UEI RF protocol from the HR2x series. You'll have to set those to IR mode and use the base/blasters from the REX or IR direct from the remote. I think the HR44 is set to simultaneous IR and RF mode by default.

There is no setup for the REX besides enabling RF on the remote itself.

Yep, just read that about my HR44-200 here: https://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bi...hread.cgi?5723 Oh well.

Yeah, the REX set up, doesn't actually exist as there is no programming to it. The downfall to that in my opinion is that you can't have multiple C3/18G + REX-433 in the house (normally).

Thanks for the clarification. You are the guru of these remotes!

Good, it sounds pretty easy. I'm assuming the wire routing will be the hardest part for me. I've got a million wires crammed into my cabinet, cooling fans, whole house audio amps and wires, Sonos... :-). Really I was hoping to be able to use two C3/18G's in my house, but it sounds like I'll have to go with a different solution. Probably just a C2 so I can stay in the same family for programming, etc, and get an IR extender/blaster should we decide to close in our gear in the 2nd room.

Any top sellers from eBay for C2s? It sounds like you've bought a few recently. Many seem to be coming from China.

I personally use fashion970124 (yellow background) but I bet they're all the same.

Hey guys, I picked up a REX-433 RF base to go with my ARRX18g and hooked it up tonight to my first device. It was listed as new on eBay, but had been opened and had what looked like small white crayon marks on it as if it had been refurbished. I used a 3.5mm cable to plug directly into the IR-in on my Denon X3200W. It works terribly. I have to point the remote at my cabinet door 10 feet away to get it to adjust the volume. Sometimes that doesn't even work. Other times I can get it to register from across the other room. Did I get a dud, or do I need to do something different with the setup (such as use one of the IR blasters instead of the line-in)? This is my first RF setup so I don't know where to start to try to resolve.

Try moving the base well away from other electronics and where the antenna is out in the open (not blocked by any large components).

Not sure about plugging a blaster port directly into the Denon. Would need to know the electrical specs.

Any recommendations for a alternative antenna for the REX-433?

Hmm... I've never thought about it. I've always just moved it.

I seen someone selling one on eBay in a Remote/Extender combo. I'll try moving it if I can, I have one of the RF transmitters running a good distance to a RF receiver which travels another 25 feet to my TV.

I remember seeing the listing you were talking about. In fact, I think they had a cord running from the antenna port out to a high gain antenna to ease placement or to get some separation of antennas to increase reception range.

I haven't played around with mine enough to know what's going on yet, but I can't move it any closer or away from other components within my confined cabinet and it's not working well.

I think most of your devices have individual apps for wifi control. That's about the best you can do without adding more hardware.

Yeah, I think I'm going to upgrade my receiver this fall. RX-V375 isn't cutting it without networking.

Anyone else free to try logging into EZ-RC.com? I'm having issues. Yes, I know I need to learn RM.

Alright, EZ-RC not working has forced me to learn RM. Damn, it's not difficult at all, just need to figure out how to properly correct the RX-V375 from EZ-RC to the comparable RMIR file.

Not working for me either. But all your codes and settings should have come right over without any changes. If you have any more trouble, post your files over at hifi-remote.com, and we'll take a look.

Do you guys know if this is an end-of-life type situation, or the site is just down? I'm midstream in the programming, due to some changes to my controlled devices, so am confused how I could pick back up from where I started.

I missed programming a button and didn't realize it wasn't there until I needed it. So it pulled my settings into RM, but obviously was still missing that particular button.

RM is seriously not that difficult. The only part that could be considered difficult is locating the necessary files for your devices. Once you have files, it's easy. It's actually easier than EZ-RC as you have to wait for all the crap to shift and load on EZ-RC. On RM, you drag and drop and you're done after pushing changes.
