All,

I need to get an IR extender for the ol' "hide the boxes in the cabinet" scenario, but I'm paranoid about which solution to buy. My fear is over which solution can control my AT&T Uverse Cisco-made Set top box (STB), which is a IPN430MC. (I also have IPN330HDs, but not in the area of concern.)

Do these boxes required a Dual Band repeater solution?

Anyone know which one works best?

Might this one do the trick?

(Doesn't say if it's dual band or not explicitly and I can't call the company until tomorrow to confirm.)

We pretty much use xantech for all our jobs .. this dinky link unit is what we use 90% of the time unless we need it to be cabinet mounted or an extended range or wide angle situation. I know that it works with the uverse box .. many other brands dont work so well with uverse

Thanks for the insight.

Do you know which part would allow me to extend the distance from the IR receiver to the connecting block?

I need about 15 feet or so of cable length to run it through the pvc pipe running from my TV above the fireplace to the cabinet on the side. I can't tell from the parts list which part would do this.

All I see is an extension cable for emitters.

So Xantech confirmed any female to male 3.5mm stereo cable should work.

Even though xantech calls their extension an emitter ext, they are shipping a 3 conductor cable, so it works fine to extend the receiver as well.
