The MX-780 is a really great remote for those who don't need the full power or potential of a high end URC system. The look and feel will appeal to Harmony owners and are ideal for those considering a Harmony system but want to get in on the ground floor of a URC sysytem that can be expanded. The programming power and flexiibility of URC's CCP program can really allow an end user to control a system with ease.

This remote was just released by URC and has an MSRP of $299.

Aside from an announcement, there is no other information about the MX-780 on their website.

Did they change the model number to TRC-780? This one looks like a pro version of their R40 consumer model.

The TRC-780 is a different remote used with their Total Control products. The MX-780 is an IR/RF version of the TRC-780 for use with their Complete Control products. The MX-780 has the same programming as the MX-880, without the additional graphics and rechargeable battery.

Enjoy!

Day 2 with my MX-780. So far no issues whatsoever. Still grabbing the dedicated remotes when doing complex programming or settings work on a specific device, but for everyday remote control needs this is perfect. My system is modest, currently only a main zone 5.1 setup with Samsung LCD, Directv, Apple TV, Anthem MRX-500, Panny 3D Blu-Ray, Linn Mimik CD transport.

McIntosh MX121. McIntosh MC205. Focal Aria 948 Main Speakers, Aria CC900 Center. Focal Electra IC 1002 In-Ceiling Surrounds. Paradigm Studio Sub 15. Oppo BDP-105D. Roku XS. Roku 3. Apple TV(3). DirecTV. Panasonic TC-P65VT50. Samsung UN40FH6030F, URC MX-780.

Doesn't look like a lot of activity here. I'm looking for a code set in the programming menus that will give me the IR commands for my new Roku XS. The new Roku ships with a bluetooth remote but the unit still receives the IR codes from an older Roku remote (so I have read). I don't have access to an older remote for learning purposes, so I'm looking to see if anyone has found a code set that works.

Roku is listed under AUX - Roku or type in setup Number: 565.

These are probably old ones but if the old ones work then this should do it.

Found that this morning...Thanks! Looks like I'll still have to grab an older remote to get some of the direct buttons (Netflix, Pandora, Crackle).

I also found a very cool Roku remote for the iPhone. May be one of the best device remotes I've ever used.

Update: Ended up buying a discounted earlier model remote of the Roku website (with the direct buttons above). Learned those and a couple other missing functions (Options, Back) and now all is good on the MX-780.

I had the same issue with Roku 2. I found the dedicated codes (for Netflix, Pandora, Options, Back) on RemoteCentral.com and all is working fine now.

Curious, what can one use the variable functionality of this remote for aside from possibly guessing the on and off states?

How hard was it to get the Anthem set up with the 780?

Assuming you have access to the progamming software, it was very easy!

I'll take a look at the program later and see if I had to learn any codes.

Sorry it took so long. Just looked at the UCC program and the only button I had to "learn" was for the Sleep function.
