Apple lists Apps that can be launched and the command data - type applookup.com in your browser.
Sonos should launch with sonos: as command
Hope this helps

Linsmith,

I am excited to see what kind of user interface you have created. You are all more than welcome, to post your pictures here. It's always a great source of inspiration, as I'm always trying to improve the Gui.

I'm an iRule's user.
I very interested by demopad, but.....all my devices codes files are in the iRule format (....xml.xml ) :-((

Is there a way to easily translate these iRule file in the demopad format?

Thanks in advance.

Hello gearnet,

At the moment your only option would be to open the xml file in a xml editor and copy the hex codes one by one, and paste them into the demopad designer. Here you are able to convert the hex code into globalcache ir format (for ir codes) . When you have added your codes you can save the data file, in order to save it to your harddisk. It is a bit of work, but it really pays off.

What I forgot:

The Demopad designer has implented a IR Import Conversion Rule, which allows you to choose the Module number and ir port of your globalcache device. After this you chose the module and ir port and you convert the hex code. You can find a video tutorial on the Demopad homepage which describes this step by step. I can imagine that we could even set up a device database, in order to exchange files. What do you think of that?

I downloaded the Designer software and have been playing around with it. As I dig deeper into this, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find any benefits that iRule may have over Demopad. (I have no 2-way devices, BTW)

One thing is absolutely killing me! Andy, please remove the squares from around the buttons! They should only appear when the object is selected. The squares make it extremely difficult to visualize my project and how it would look in the real world.

Any chance of Android support anytime in the near future?

Download my IR hex codes for the Denon AVR-4810ci and other Denon receivers here.
For Logitech Harmony support, ask Logitech for the Denon receiver in the account kmickunas.

Hello guy. I'm new to this so please take it easy on me. I just discovered DemoPad and think it's just what I've been looking for. I'm going to give it a try. It surely would help if there are any IR code databases available for download. I have a Global Cache IP2IR. My devices are Samsung TV, DirecTV HR24-500, PS3 with RE BL , Samsung BluRay player, Optoma HD-20 projector. I'm going to learn how to convert Pronto codes, but if anyone has any of the codes for any of my devices it surely would speed things up. Thanks and good luck!

Hengenl,

Are you talking about the .db files which stand on the left part of the converter screen.

Do you know the structure of these .db files.
As an old Pronto user, I only know .ccf data base.

Thanks in advance

I am talking about the command files, which have as structure: .dc1

When you tick the "Show Code Databases" you have to assign the Target Format, the module number and ir port of your Globalcache device. As far as I know, there are no predefined commands implented right now. But you can convert your hex codes into Globalcache Ir Format. Watch the Video "Tutorial 1 - importing & using a Pronto database IR command", for more info on the demo pad homepage. It is really easy and forward.

Someone did this with iRule. I am going to run the wire and play with it but it requires using a digiport or RS232 device to the serial port on the HAI Omnipro. I am very curious about this as well.

I got a few interesting informations, regarding the Gc-100 devices which only allow 1 connection at the same time. There is a setting for the device (open up the extended device menu with the small square / arrow icon) to 'disconnect after each command' - this should allow you to use 2 iphone or ipad apps at the same time. It also works with av receivers which also only allow 1 connection at the same time.

Furthermore Andy told me what to do, in order to use remote access (when you are not at home) :

In the same menu for the device, you can set up the remote location information - put in the IP address / port for each device (the IP address will always be your dyndns host name), and make sure you port forward all the ports on you router to let the data through. Then, whenever you want to control the system remotely, go in to the settings for the app & turn 'remote access' ON - and the app will start using the remote location IP address / port instead of the 'normal' IP address / port.

Hi Hengenl

I've all my .xml iRule IR codes Files been translated in .dc1.
I'd like now to translate the HTTP codes file.

If I'm correct,

One way is to enter the commands
in the Action Editor of each button
example:

Action Type: Send data to a website
Web Data: http://device IP address/cgi-bin/do?cmd=ir_code&ir_code=E718BF00

I'd prefer create a pre-defined command file .dc1
but I don't know how to do that.

Could you help me please

Yep, this is coming in a future version, for now just remove your background image & use a background colour instead while laying out your buttons - transparency is ok when you are not using a background image in the designer.

The .db files are the exported database files from ProntoEdit software - they are actually SQLite database files, with a specific structure - I'd recommend against trying to create the file yourself, this tool is for people who export their Pronto IR database through ProntoEdit. Note the conversion will ONLY work with 0000 format codes.

I was just wondering if there are plans for feedback for Oppo BD players (BDP-93 specifically), or for the Universal Devices ISY-99i Insteon lighting controller? Or XML parsing for feedback? If I can get feedback going for these this would be the ultimate app for me!

Just email DemoPad support with the xml file, and someone will send you back a .dc1 file. The ability to import xml files is in the next release of the software. This will only work for 0000 codes.
