Keep in mind no Hub is included, which is key for RF, Bluetooth, smarthome controls, etc. This just gives you IR control from the remote itself. I've seen many deals for the Smart remote and hub under $100 which gives you all this extra functionality (if you don't want to step up to the much more expensive Elite).

All good points. But also consider that the Smart has no display, hence no way to easily access additional functions without resorting to a smartphone. And the Smart has no IR of its own. So the hub or blasters must be line of sight with all your equipment. This makes Smart a poor choice for someone with a TV in one room and all their other devices in another.

The Touch would be a good choice for a former Harmony One user, especially at this price. Even though the sale is apparently over, used and "refurb" Touches can still be found for around $80.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Touch's ergonomics or lack of dedicated skip buttons, but it is a good value at the moment, if you can get past those issues.

Very good points to bring up, and I can certainly understand your needs with this (and lack of a display is certainly a biggie). I went from the One to Touch (with Smart) to the Elite. If you can find a deal, try to get the Ultimate instead of Touch. What drove me crazy on the Touch is that it doesn't wake up when you pick it up (Ultimate does), and no haptic feedback either. I think there are a few other things on Ultimate as well that they upgraded from Touch. I still have 2 Touches relegated to other rooms...a very good remote regardless. And you can always add a Hub to it later if you want (which is what I did).

Ultimate vs. Touch vs. Keep Both

I'm new to Harmony smart remotes.

I've picked up two of them at BB for fairly decent prices: the Ultimate @ $180 and the Touch @ $99.

From looking through the forum, I've learned that the Ultimate has haptic feedback and a tilt sensor, so commands are confirmed and it wakes up when picked up. The Touch has neither of these features.

Are there any other differences in the remotes?

I know the Ultimate also includes the Hub, which adds RF and WiFi (and Bluetooth?).

Does having the Hub increase the time between charging of the hand-held remote, compared to the Touch?

I've got two set-ups. Not sure if I should hang on to the Touch or wait for another sale on the Ultimate.

I've been looking for info on these for a little while now and so far what I'm reading suggests that other than the tilt to wake and haptic feedback, the Touch has been firmware upgraded to match the Ultimate in terms of function.
Ultimate has long press to activate a second button function and I found a post in this thread suggesting that at least for the transport buttons, this has been implemented on the Touch to get skip vs fast forward on the same button.

Both remotes are now Hub compatible so while the Ultimate comes with it for around $200 on sale, the Touch is on a wicked good sale (clearance more likely) at Sams for $80 and the hub is on sale at BB for $50 so I decided to put together a poor man's Ultimate from these two to work with a Google Home I'll be picking up soon. Hopefully the rechargeable battery in the Touch is still good since it's probably been sitting around a warehouse for 3 years.

I have both of these set up with a Hub and they work almost identical except for the vibration when using the touch screen on the Ultimate and the wake function. Minus those two features they seem to be the same. The upgraded firmware on the Touch made that remote relevant in my eyes because the old OS was horrible to use. $80 for a Touch and $50 for a Hub is in my eye an inexpensive Ultimate.

Has anyone been able to get this remote to work with an Android TV box? We were given an OTT one and although I "learned" some buttons to the remote it still wont control it.

Picked up one of these cheap, may not have been my best choice. I'm striving to work it with a Samsung setup KS-9800, UBD-8500 and the HWK-950. Suffice it to say it basically never gets the inputs right on anything. I'm constantly fixing it and have synced etc. It is truly frightful and I thought the soundbars endless factory screwups with the input were bad. Likely just throw this in a drawer and forget it.

80' PiROD tower, RG11, nikiml's optimized DBH20 UHF, nikiml's GH6 VHF both KT-200, HDHomeruns, Samsung UN65KS9800, UBD-K8500 & HW-K950
