Hi everyone. My apologies if this question has been asked before (couldn't find it.) In fact, I'm quite surprised to not find any info on this subject out there. Simply this -- the Harmony 900 doesn't work from 30 feet away through 2 walls. The Harmony 890 does, but is aging and I'm having serious issues controlling certain devices.

What DOES work VERY well for me is the apps for the devices (Tivo, Remote, etc) through wifi. The only problem, is it is very frustrating trying to control TV off of a flat piece of glass (no buttons)...and of course it's only one device at a time...not babysitter proof.

Is there a push-button, universal remote...that works through WiFi instead of RF to control the blasters? If not...why not?

Best wishes

Check out RTI but you will have to have someone else program the remote. With one of their network remotes you will also need a processor.

At this rate you'd be better off with the Irule, roomie remote option.

Essentially it's doing what your already doing (controlling your devices with your smart devices) except that it would be all in one app and control everything in every room.

I discovered this forum trying to investigate the exact same thing. Unfortunately, a hard button WiFi remote does not exist in the consumer realm. It makes perfect sense to me too, but so far the manufactures just don't see what we see. I think Logitech/Harmony is really missing an opportunity.
