Anyone done this before? I have 9 somfy RF roller shades? Had 1 person tell me that I have to purchase a $500 controller to perform this. Hoping there is a cheaper workaround. Thanks in advance for any help.

Integrating a standalone RF system is always a challenge. I don't have an answer to your specific question, but it did get me noodling on the topic of any viable alternative approaches: Depending on the price/availability of the Somfy RF remote + your comfort with pulling one apart and tinkering, you could consider doing something similar to this:

You basically use the Velleman IR switching kit (which is really easy to put together) to emulate button pushes and control it using a standard emitter/blaster with iRule

....I don't know the number of buttons on your remote, but you could also maybe use iRule to control the open/close contacts on an iTach or GC-100 to simulate button pushes....just a thought.

RJ45 to DB9 pin-out

I recently ran into the same problem while trying to get Somfy's Universal RTS Interface II (URTSI II) to work on an Irule interface using Global Cache RS232/Ip controller.
I used a female DB9 soldered to a peice of cat-5 with a crimped RJ45 connector. The pin out that worked for me was:
Cat-5 DB9
3 2
6 3
7&8 5

Works every time no carriage return
