I've just read on CNET that Harmony is releasing 2 new remotes soon...the Ultimate and Smart Control. This seems to be exactly what I've been looking for for months as it has IR and RF capabilities. In addition, it has WI-FI capabilities and by downloading the Harmony app on a smartphone, your phone can control your A/V devices as well (up to 8).

Does anyone know if these remotes will have z-wave capabilities?

What do you guys think of these 2 new releases? Interested in hearing everyone's opinion.

Yeah I am surprised there aren't more people commenting on it. Are you sure on the RF frequency? Of course I don't think I can control my POS Hampton Bay ceiling fan thanks to some proprietary frequency

There's a little more discussion going on HERE. To answer the OP's question it doesn't work with Z-wave, but does work with the Philips Hue lighting system which is wi-fi, I think.

Correction to the OPs statement about devices. The Ultimate is 15 device. It's just the Smart Control remote that's limited to 8.

The RF part works the same as any universal RF remote, meaning it only talks to it's own base. It does, however, work with PS3 and Wii via bluetooth.
