Does anyone own this remote? I just got one for a decent price so I can get at least 4 remote onto just a single one, I just don't hear this one talked about much here.

I do not own the SRU8015, but I do own the SRU 9600. To be honest it merely sits on the cabinet now, as it cannot compete with the Harmony remotes in use.

It is a decent remote. What I like is that it does have "Activities", and it is fairly straightforward to set up. I happen to like the heavy weight of it, and the screen is cool.

But, using the "scroll wheel" is not intuitive, I couldn't get the family used to the moves of "Jog" then clicking through.

What I do not like about it is that I cannot "program" it in any way. It does have learning capability, but unlike a Harmony, or even a JP1 style universal remote, I cannot enter custom commands, or EFC commands.

So, it's not a bad remote, it does have its "pluses", but overall it cannot compete with other remotes. If you got for a great price (as I did mine!), try it out and see how you like it.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I bought all this "stuff" to enjoy it!

Most universal remotes have built-in codes for most devices so learning isn't necessary. Have you tried the built-in codes? In any case you can buy a cheaper universal that has the codes if you need to teach the philips.

I doubt any of them are going to have codes for a recent infocus projector.. I just went ahead and got the remote, I thought logitech would have the code.. and nope.. so much for a huge database.

Most models within a brand have the same codes. So an older model from the Logitech database likely would have worked. The UEI database has 8 Infocus codes (mostly NEC1), so a $3 JP1 also would have worked. I'm just saying we could have solved your problem for less money.
