Need help making a decision on remotes for my new house.

Family Room- all components in a closed cabinet under tv - Wired for LAN and Cat 5e to media room
TV Panasonic s60
AVR Denon 1913
BluRay Panasonic
Directv Genie

Patio- unused cat 5e ran to closet in media room
genie mini in closet in media room
speakers connected to Denon 1913 in family room (plan on using phone to control the AVR)

Master - unused cat 5e ran to closet in media room
genie mini in closet in media room
Currently using Directv RF remote but the signal is weak and doesn't work at all sometimes

Should I try to convert the cat5e to transmit IR to the genie mini boxes?
Or should I go with RF to IR?
If I go RF to IR will I still experience the same signal issues that I have with the directv remote?
Will I need a ir repeater/blaster to get the ir signal to the home run if I convert the cat5?
What is good ir distribution box for the family room?
I want to purchase the same brand but not necessarily the same model remotes.

Thanks is advance for any suggestions. I've spent hours researching this and I'm absolutely no closer to making a decision.
