I have an old Harmony 670 that I'm trying to use to control my whole system that has recently been upgraded.
I'm finding it hard to incorporate all the functionality seamlessly into the single remote.
My system is:
Display - Samsung 64" F8500
BR - Oppo 103
Soundbar - Sony CT660
STB - ATT Uverse Motorola VIP 1225
It seems the issue is primarily that most of these devices are "smart" and want to control the others.
For instance - Even with programing in the remote to change the input on the CT660 to go to HDMI 1 input, the F8500 seems to "make" it revert to TV.
I cannot consistently get the Oppo to boot up and go to HDMI Back Input when the remote is executing the Watch TV activity.
Sometimes there also seems to be handshake issues with the Samsung where I need to unplug the HDMI then reinsert.
All links are made via HDMI cables
The Uverse box feeds into the Oppo rear HDMI input - The Oppo feeds into the CT660 HDMI 1 input - The CT660 feeds into the HDMI 1 on the Samsung.
So to my question - Is my best bet to:
- Be stuck using 4 different remotes (with some cross functionality)
- Upgrade to a "better" Harmony remote (perhaps one with Picture and Sound buttons)
- Figure out a way, with your input, to get the 670 doing what it needs to do
