I have the standard 789-44 xantech connecting block with IR receiver hooked up. I also have a harmony 1100 (ir) and harmony one ipod thing (ir) also a global cache gc-100. I'm planning on running the harmony 1100 RF kit so I don't need to point the remote to the ir.

I have the IR receiver plugged into the wire ports of the xantech and if I plug in the harmony one or gc-100 into the ir receiver it will turn off the xantech.

I plan on having IR signals coming from the harmony one (via ipad), gc100 (home automation from pc), harmony 1100 RF kit (most use), and ir receiver (for standard remotes of equipment to change settings).

Am I doing something wrong? I just want everything to be run together in 1 zone and out to all devices (5-8 devices total). I'm planning on buying splitters to the 4 emitters to be able to use 8 devices.

I doubt i'll be sending more than 1 signal at once so I do not see the issue here. If I plug in the GC100 or harmony one the xantech power light turns off.

They all have different voltages and aren't compatible like that. I'm actually glad the GC is still working. You need a GC-CGX cable which optically isolates each device.
