My 10 year old MX-700 has seen better days so I'm considering the MX-780. One thing I didn't like about the MX-700 was the SEL button was part of the 4 way navigation rocker. This made pressing SEL difficult, especially as the SEL button started to wear out.

I've been looking at images of the MX-780 and I can't tell if the SEL is seperate from the rocker. The owners manual and the spec on the URC website does not specify.

Anyone have one and can confirm one way or the other?

Thanks.

No, the sel key is not separated from the cursor pad, but it is no way like the mx-700 rocker.

Thanks for the reply Edmund. How is the MX-780 SEL different? Are you implying it is easier to press SEL than on the MX-700?

My whole family has complained to me about the SEL on the MX-700, so the MX-780 would at least have to be an improvement, if not a seperate button.

On the mx-700, the whole rocker moved together, its rocker were three times thicker then the new mx-780. On the mx-780, it takes no pressure at all to fire a command, sorry to me its oranges and apples comparing the two.

The select key on the MX-780 has this concentric groove running around it so even though it is the same rocker as the the directional keys, they don't move together because your finger only applies force on the inside of the ring.
