Question before buying (long tv startup)

Folks,
I'm looking to purchase a remote control to control several components and my Lutron lights. Honestly, I don't know whether to go with a tablet based program or a dedicated remote. I have one big worry before I dedicate time and money into an all in one solution.

Issue: When I turn on my Samsung LCD there is a long lag before the TV automatically switches my Denon receiver to TV mode. For example, When I turn on the TV, receiver, and let's say the PS4 I will already have the receiver set to game mode/audio. Then the TV kicks it out of game mode and into TV mode on the receiver. I have to again push game mode on the receiver.

Is this something an all in one could fix? I say long lag, I mean about 10-15 seconds while the TV boots up. Is this where macros come in?

Thanks for any suggestions.

It switches because you have HDMI CEC turned on. Turn off HDMI control and your TV won't try to control your receiver, it will just be your remote control that runs the show.

It all happens because HDMI CEC is extremely flawed. A good universal remote control will prevent this from occurring in the future.

Turning off HDMI CEC right now will prevent it from happening at all.

AV_Integrated you are awesome. The CEC setting fixed the issue. Can't tell you how many times I went looking through the settings on both the TV and receiver trying to solve that. A big thank you. Now on to shopping for my remote.

Thanks again.
