i haven't had the time much lately, and so i've been waiting on a 'new gen' console. seems like there's always a reason to wait a little longer, price cuts, or improved hardware, but i've always preferred the xbox experience.

right now all my consoles are hooked up to the main theater. with how long 'construction' has been taking, i've considered bringing at least one upstairs, but i just don't have that much downtime anymore

I get every console. Why choose when you can just have all of them. I'd say I mostly play my Ps4 in the HT room but I play my PC the most (but I have a different setup for that)

My upgraded (to GTX 1080) PC, with the Xbox Elite controller (both added just this Friday) have grabbed my attention. Now, GTA5 in particular now looks abysmal on the PS4 Pro vs. the PC. And since GTA5 online represents about 1/2 of all my gameplay, that's a big deal.

Just Voted.

I play and buy all consoles (just preordered the XBOX ONE X), with the exception of the Nintendo Gamecube as being the last console I buy from them; Not interested in Nintendo anymore for the moment. ...And I live, breath, **** and eat gaming in a home theatre environment. Any upgrades for my home theatre take into consideration gaming first and movie watching second. No PC gaming for me.

I highly prefer the Xbox experience, but do have a PS4 as well. Both are hooked up to my home theater and displayed on a 110 inch screen. It's a small room, but I make it work.

Now if true 4K would become available at an affordable price on a HT projector, I'd be in heaven. Looking forward to Nov 7th and the X1X being brought into the mix for better resolution.

lol yup, it just sucks you in!! The Elite controller is fantastic! I pre-ordered 3 of the xbox one x's for all the rooms I game in but my xbox one s's haven't been turned on in 3-4 months lol. I've been playing PlayerUnknown and waiting for Destiny 2.
I'm will be using the one x's as uhd players as well in the rooms other than my HT. I'm hoping microsoft will have some good ressons to buy more games on their systems.

I voted for 'No', as I removed my PS3 from my AV rack to make room for my Oppo 203, but I'm not against the idea of jumping back in at some point in the future.

I've never been a big gamer, but I enjoyed playing Madden or NCAA football games, along with some RPGs before the whole real-time combat and open-sandbox trends started taking over. I'd enjoy getting into a traditional story-driven RPG with turn-based combat like Lunar, Dragon Quest, or the older FF games, but I'm not sure if anyone is making anything like that anymore.

I've just moved my PC gaming to the HT. I've built a new machine for the job that is both fast and silent, and, like Mark, I've also upgraded the GPU to cope with the 4K output. I've even sprung for a Corsair Lapdog (yes, it really is called that) to support WASD+mouse gaming from the couch.

The wife and I have been enjoying The Talos Principle in HDR, and I must admit The Witcher 3 also looks very fine! ;-)

The surround sound is so much better in the HT than on those crappy 2.1 PC speaker sets...
Now if games could just get around to supporting Atmos... then we could be suitably immersed in 7.1.4

Cool

In my HT, the screen is 2.35:1 and managed by a HTPC. Video games (and streaming video) aren't part of my HT currently.

Recently I bought a VGTV - A flat screen TV just for Video Games. It hosts a PS3, PS4 and WiiU and I have so portable VG systems also. For the moment I have left PC Gaming and mostly play on PS4. I really enjoy gaming with headphones and or VR.

All of them, sold the Xbox One S at the height of the market so I only needed to spend $125 out of pocket towards my X I pre-ordered yesterday. PS4 Pro gets the most use, followed by the Switch. I have a VR-Ready gaming PC that sees minimal to no gaming at all.

I use both the Xbox One S and PS4 Pro. The Xbox One integrates better into a home theater setup and the ability to play UHD 4K discs is great making it an all in one system. The PS4 Pro is great due to the excellent graphics in games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted 4.

I've been a PC gamer since the first 8086 my parents brought home. That said, I have owned (or still own) every console except the Sega CD, VirtualBoy, PS4, Xbone, and Switch. The only handheld I ever owned was the GameBoy Advance. I generally only end up owning about 5-10 games per console and playing them to death. To date my favorite console games ever include:

Mario series (NES/SNES)
Mario Maker (WiiU)
Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
Time Crisis light gun games (PS1/PS2)
Streets of Rage series (Genesis)
Panzer Dragoon Zwei (Saturn)
Die Hard Arcade (Saturn AKA Dynamite Deka)
Perfect Dark (N64)
Vigilante 8 (N64)
WWF Wrestlemania 2000 (N64)
Halo (Xbox)
Fable (Xbox)
Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)
Burnout Series (Xbox/360)
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II (GCN)
Gran Turismo 3 (PS2)
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (any version)

I could probably go on and include all the arcade games and such. As it stands, I'm currently building out my arcade cabinet with support to emulate all my favorite games from consoles and arcade as well as arcade-like PC games (Castle Crashers, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, etc.). For the games that can't be emulated well, I'll just connect the original console.

yeah, but i'll probably wait for the first round of price cuts on the one x... hopefully they won't have announced something else at that point, haha

if i'm lucky, i'll also have gotten to the paint stage on my theater by that point, so i might start using it more often.

i've got a pretty good collection, but i haven't added a game in probably 2 years at least. New house = too many projects

I mostly play my xbox one, and just pre-ordered a one x yesterday. However I also have a ps4, wii u, nintendo switch, and multiple gaming pcs. I used to be all about computers for the higher fidelity graphics but my kb+mouse days are over. I prefer controller + recliner and I find consoles offer a better experience than the half-ass controller support on most pc games.

I play games as long as they're old. I built a Raspberry Pi 3 emulation system using an old Sega Genesis shell, taking care to place things like controller outs and video out where they originally went. The games are on a hard drive that is startlingly close in size and shape to a Genesis cartridge, which sticks out of the cartridge slot. I intend to create a cartridge label in the style of the old cartridge labels that's titled "EVERYTHING".

i'm mostly using a PC even at my "HT". i just have a PS4 PRO for games that i want to play that are PS 4 exclusive.

one big part of "gaming" is esport and that looks best uncompressed 4K RGB in the game client and only a PC can deliver this.

Yup bought a UHD TV so I can use it as a PC monitor.
Other than that I don't really care much for UHD content.

OLED is a game changer.

This is the only one I have with me right now. Sorry it's not more revealing. Note the industrial beast eye I used to replace the original power on LED.
