OK, I confirmed with TCL that full-array local-dimming should be operating when the 55" P-Series is in game mode.

In general, yes. And specifically for gaming, yes.

Mark do you have Battlefield 1? You might want to test it on the TCL...

Mark I need some advice. I own a Sony W900a TV and I love it. Best LCD I've ever owned but I don't want to be left out of HDR gaming. I'm thinking about purchasing the TCL as a temporary upgrade before I go all in next year. I have a PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X on Pre order. My plan was to wait for HDMI 2.1 and go big in 2018 w/ either the next gen Z9 or A1E. Will the TCL provide a substantial PQ upgrade over my Sony? Especially for gaming. I would give the TCL to my Mom next year since she will need a new TV in 2018. I think this is a win-win plan. Low cost initial investment to enjoy HDR for the next several months and wait for the tech to mature until next year.

Mark, thanks so much for doing this review. It's exactly what I'm looking for as every TV gets used for gaming as well as watching shows and movies.

Since TLC doesn't make this TV in the 65" size, is there one that you would recommend? Since sliding the couch up to play games is not always practical.
