Well seems like it. I joined ontoday to get my Halo fix. Well I joined someone on my list. Well appeared they were glitching instead of playing so I left. Joined a matchmade team battle and we were doing assualt at ivory tower. Well i was shooting a guy in the back when all of a sudden i got the blue screen and when it finally went away i was in a totally different spot. Seems i died somehow. next thing I know I hear a voice say "Bomb Armed". WTF! So obviously Im pissed off now so I quit a join another game where they booted me cause I was killing people instead of glitching.

It was fine for me when we were playing. In Bungie's weekly update, they mentioned they are aware of such random problems occurring, and are trying to fix them.

There are also some lag cheats some people use. With a hack, you can ping people's IP and they'll lag. Also, if the host presses standby on his modem, his xbox will still run the game, while everyone else is frozen.

If you search on Bungie's forums, you'll see there are all sorts of fishy things people are doing. Lag is the culprit, but it may not be benign.

I haven't had any problems with lag up until a day or so ago. I just finished playing quite a bit today and definitely had one too many laggy games. My guess is that by making the Optimatch faster in their last update, they comprimised some ping/geographic/host features.

Oh well, it's always evolving and Bungie is determined to help the biggest complaints..

Namely, starting with SMG's on big maps, and how utterly useless that is. Second, how unbalanced the sword is in Slayer games. Third, the number of people who drop out of Team Slayer when they are losing. Bungie should immediately drop you a rank number if you do that.

You know, I really hate Assault. They should add a timer to the bomb...if you don't arm it in time, it should blow up in your hands, insta-killing everyone in the vicinity.

And the timer should be less than the session time, obviously. Make it like 3 min or something. That will teach show-offs. :D

Sounds like the Blue Screen Cheat to me. Apparently, if the host box person pushes standby on their router or modem it will give everyone blue screens except from them, allowing them to do as they please. This is a pretty well documented cheat, so I am not making this up.

I've played a lot and haven't run into this lag cheat yet although everyone on Bungie's forums bitches about it. I really don't care, because if you artificially inflate your rank, you still suck, regardless of how you cheat.

The number means nothing, it's just a general indicator. Cheaters are annoying but I'd say it's anything but a rampant problem.

This is one of the reasons I like playing in the AVS Clan. Atleast you don't have to worry about people trying to exploit cheats to win. Overall a really nice bunch of guys (except Colt who love's to kill me everytime he see's me)

I wish there was a composite of pictures of online game cheaters and bios (I imagine they aren't very impressive looking nor successful people). That way people who cheat would have a clear frame of reference for the type of people who share their hobby. It would probably weed out anyone with even the slightest notion of self worth.
