This is my system:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
MSI K8T NEO
Kingston HyperX 512mb Pc3500
MSI Geforce FX5900XT

Infocus X1 DLP projector

I want to HDTV gaming on my projector using my PC. Is this setup
complete or do i have to buy anything else?

I can be gaming now, but the projector only goes in 800x600 and
that is to small. The projector can use both 720p and 1080i it says
in the specifications. So please help me to setup it right.

Im new to this so give me much information, please.

Your projector cannot display either 720p nor 1080i. Do some searches for X1 projector in the under $5000 projector forum.

When an episode of Walker Texas Ranger was aired in France, the French surrendered to Chuck Norris just to be on the safe side.

It will display those resolutions but it's not an HD projector. Yes it downgrades those to it's native res of 800x600.
I don't know what you mean by too small though since you can project any size you want up to like 8 feet. Maybe you mean the res is not enough and that could be. If you want more you need a different PJ.

I think some are getting confused. The X1 can accept an HD signal, but its imaging device lacks the number of pixels to natively display either of the cmmon HDTV resolutions. The imager on the X1 is 800x600, while the smaller HDTV resolution is 1280x720. The only thing that projector can project is 800x600.

So, if you are looking for a 16:9 projected image out of the X1 its going to be 800x450 at best.

When will D* stop pushing HD-Lite while charging us for full HD? Digital input on a CRT is a reality, not a possibility.

Without considering price ranges, here are some options (with native resolution):

DLP
Infocus 5700 (1024x576);
Infocus 7200 or 7205 (1280x720);
Mitsubishi XD300U (1024 x 768)

LCD
Panasonic AE700U (1280x720); or the Sony VPL-HS20 (1386x788).

I've got an HS20 and not only is it awesome, it's a very versatile projector. I have it shining on an off-white wall right now and the image looks crisp and amazing. It has multiple component inputs, as well as a DVI input and an HDMI input.

It can be found for under $2500 on price search engines which I wont mention here.

I thought the Infocus 5700 was 1024x576.

My bad, you're right. I'll change that.

Thanks.
