I currently have a Linksys BEFSR41 with 2 computers and an Xbox hardwired to it. I want to bring my Xbox downstairs to hook up to my HT setup but it's going to be a pain in the arse to get a Cat5 down there. (wife hates to see wires!).

Is this all I need to get a wireless setup going?

Set up a Linksys WRT54G wireless router, in the same spot as my current Linksys, and connect the 2 computers with the Cat 5's. Then get a Microsoft Wireless adapter for the Xbox to be set up downstairs? I want the wireless setup for future plans. Will be moving everything into the basement whenever it gets finished. (Could be a while) The wireless router would allow us to put a comp in the kitchen if so desired. Or possibly getting laptops in the future and be able to surf the web out on the deck.

Thanks for any info!

Sound like you got it figured out. Walmart has a linksys acess point for the xbox that is cheaper than the microsoft ones. I just hooked up a wireless network just like you described and it works great - I was suprised becuase I'm not real good with computers. All you have to do is just hook everything up and turn it on.

I like to watch video and listen to audio.

I used a Linksys router and wireless access point. It did the trick.
