Clear digital pictures, nice options for adjusting pictures, and excellent sound quality
No digital clock for sleep timer
I have enjoyed my Vizio E321VL TV set ever since the day I installed it and powered it for the first time. It was both the first set I had ever owned with a digital tuner and the first set I had ever owned with a flat panel.
I liked the fact the TV set did not take too much space on one of the dressers in my bedroom or take much time to install (I appreciated the screwdriver that came with the TV set) and I did not mind the installation wizard that appeared after powering the TV set for the first time since I had experience in using installation wizards on personal computers.
I appreciated the options the TV set had for adjusting the aspect ratios of TV programs and the positions of programs on display. I also liked the various picture modes under picture settings, for they were very helpful in my adjusting the settings for good contrast, brightness, backlighting, and sharpness. I never felt the urge to change the settings for colors and tint individually since they were usually great after adjusting the other settings.
I liked the remote control for the TV set and learned how to handle its symmetry or else I would have kept pressing the wrong buttons without looking at the remote control.
I liked the fact the TV set has an RGB (red, green, and blue) port just in case I decide to connect my desktop computer to the set and use it as a computer monitor.
I liked the fact the TV set can display up to 1080 lines of video resolution, even though the box for the set only advertises its ability to display 720 lines of video resolution.
I did not mind the TV set not having the ability to connect to the Internet, since I know I can just get a streaming device for the TV set later such as a Roku box.
This TV set would have been even better if it had included a digital clock for the sleep timer and the option to enter times for the TV set to go into sleep mode (or be depowered) and to be powered automatically. They would have been great for conserving energy and saving money from the local power company.
I have had no serious problems with the TV set since the day I installed it and I did not mind hearing a few popping sounds from the interior of the TV set occasionally after powering it and depowering it, especially after learning the sounds were normal (for the minute after powering and depowering the set) for the internal circuits of the TV set expanding due to heat or contracting due to cooling. I also did not mind the fact that I can not play the video games Duck Hunt and Yoshi's Safari with this TV set due to the accessories required for the games (the Zapper for Duck Hunt and the Super Scope for Yoshi's Safari) being incompatible with TV sets with flat panels. I was aware of the drawbacks in regards to those games before I got my TV set and I know I need a TV set with a cathode-ray tube (CRT) in order to play those games again.
