I was tired of not being able to hear the sound that came out of my TVspeakers. Even after turning the volume to the max I would still need to CC turned on so I could hear what people were saying...
Loud!, wireless subwoofer, easy to connect.
I wish it had the LCD display on the remote like the higher end Vizio soundbars.
I was tired of not being able to hear the sound that came out of my TVspeakers. Even after turning the volume to the max I would still need to CC turned on so I could hear what people were saying during movies. I started looking at upgrade possibilities and knew that I was not going to be approved for a high budget or having speakers all over the front room by the "finance committee". I've read other reviews of the VIZIO S3821w-C0 Sound Bar and found it to be amongst the most recommended in my price range.
The sound this soundbar puts out is amazing! I can actually hear what people are saying again, even in quiet scenes during movies. This soundbar does need the subwoofer though. I can't imagine using it without it. The nice thing is that it wireless and I can hide it out of the way of the little ones with their crayons and toy cars.
It includes built in bluetooth which is definitely a nice feature to have. It is simple to pair with any phone or tablet I have and start playing music at anytime. The set up process could not have been any easier. One simple optical cable that goes from the TV to the soundbar, that is it. Once I set sound in my TV menu to external speakers every input was automatically set to use the soundbar.
The one con I have for the soundbar is there is not really a user interface. There is only some led lights on the front of the soundbar that show when you turn the volume or enable bluetooth. It would have been nice to have the LCD display on the remote that is found on some of the higher end Vizio soundbars.
Some of the movies we have tested out so far have been:
Kung Fu Panda 2
How to Train your Dragon
It has been so nice hearing bass again. I almost forgot what is sounded like.
For people looking to upgrade the sound of their TV without wanting to spend a lot or place speakers all over their living space I can not recommend a better option.
