Has anyone heard from Tedd lately? I was emailing back and forth quite frequently, and it's been quite a few weeks since I have heard anything from him at all, even after I have sent him a couple unanswered follow up emails.

    Hope everything is all right.

The issue is 99.9% of the htpc guys don't really have much of a clue of what is really possible, nor do they have much of an understanding of the really high ground.

I knew Alan was working with Lumagen. Wasn't sure that was going to happen, since it's been a while since I heard anything on it.

It’s looking like the Lumagen will soon have dynamic tone mapping and negated the need for madVR on ripped iso’s.

Yes Alan wrote the custom gamma curves, great guy, lives about 40min away from me. I’m hoping to avoid the HTPC route, keeping a close watch on Ziddo, Dune, Zappiti, and Egreat. Unfortunately on some of these threads you ask if something can be done and get a bunch of arguments on why you should do it, a simple no would save everyone a lot of time.

So basically Alan's baby.... :) That's a setup I figured I would consider come a retirement move and getting a basement actually worthy of the dollar investment.

At that snack bracket investment, I have to wonder if there's any really good "grey" market hdmi audio break out boxes or hdcp strippers? HDFury or this one perhaps? Not sure about so many splits and whether the Lumagen adds a touch of lag. That might not be a lot of money, but it often is a bit of a roulette wheel, getting the right tool, that doesn't impact performance.

The projector system is a Sim2 Duo, the Lumagen has a lot of configuration settings, custom gama curves as well as splitting the signal for the two projectors and allowing different settings for each If desired (the two projectors different to optimize HDR)

Never tried a second hdmi in a htpc but I don't see any reason one couldn't assign audio to a
second hdmi video card if the dialog box for audio presents that option. It might require a secondary
monitor hooked up if the pc ties the video and audio together to meet HDCP.

Why do you need the Lumagen in the htpc's video chain in the first place? No second 4K hdmi input on the pj?
I would gather you have the Lumagen simply passing through, but would that introduce any sort of lag?

I’m looking at options to play UDH iso rips. The video will go to a Lumagen and the audio will go to a Trinnov. Some of the Ziddo,Dune,Zappiti’s have The 2nd audio out HDMI, not sure if an HTPC can do that.

I knew you hung out mostly in the $$$ section of AVS, but didn't link you, to that theater.

I do miss Peter's presence, but could do a little less hyperbole from him. Sometimes great stuff of his
pushing the envelope, gets lost with that. I also don't know if AVS has a clue on how it devalued the higher
    end, by banning Peter.

Those high end pre-pros are computers, so why not a usb 3.1 input port? ;) I gather you are having latency issues?
Ever think about ways to lean down the OS, and kill off unnecessary motherboard functions that might be hurting performance?

    Hi Ted,

You have been a great to me and others. I was wondering do you have a build thread? It would be nice to see your theater.
