    Hello,

I have a pair of Panasonic DMREA18 standalone recorders that have lost recording functionality. I am hoping you might be willing to point me in the right direction of how I might get them repaired for a reasonable price. They do really nice jobs with VHS archiving and I'd hate to give them up to find something I would not be happy with.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

    Sincerely,

    Shawn

    Hi Mickinct,

I have a Panasonic DMR-EZ48V and I tried to update the firmware as instructed per Panasonic.

Well, I did as they said.......the firmware never took and tried to install again.

Now my machine is in a kind of cyclical movement trying to load the firmware every time I power it up and each time, it tries to find the firmware.
The display screen says: "NG" and the disc tray is sticking out.

My machine was manufactured on October 2011 and I bought it used from a pawn shop.

    Can you help me?

Thank you sir......I'm very bummed by this occurrence.

    Hello mickinct,

I wish you a happy new year to you and yours.

I saw some of your other posts on the boards.

    I have a Panasonic DMR-EH75V that is kicking a U99 error?

Do you work on these and would you consider working on mine?

    Thank you for considering.

PS: I found contact information for mickinct to fix these things....what a great guy. He responds to private messages mostly. Message me on facebook 'Michael Dale Weaver' or this forum if you want contact or referral information. I removed my contact information because of spam.

Hi -- You and I had connected a little over a year ago on the phone. I was having the "no read" error with the 3+1 beeps, and as I recall it requires a pricey drive replacement somewhere north of $200.

Assuming that's still the case, I've resolved to just unload it for parts to someone, and before putting on ebay, thought I'd see if you or someone you know might be interested.

    Best,

    Hi,
    I have DMR-ES-45V DVD/VHS Recorder.
I love this unit because of the manual dubbing feature, which I used a lot.
Today I put manual dubbing for 2 hours.
    Then I saw U61 message.
I was able to get dvd-r/w out of the unit, but it still displays the icon, like dvd is still inside it.
It displays "HELLO" and for any disk - unable to read.
i heard that you can fix this issue.
Please help me and let me know how to proceed according to contact you.
    Thanks,

I have a DMR-E85H that gives me the please wait when you turn it on.

My first question is how much would you charge to repair it? Second question is, is it worth repairing?

    email me at bmoore054@nc.rr.com

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me. Do you work on computers Mick? I need a fan replaced in my lap top.

    Hello MickinCT,

I'm Denis (denfer) and I have a sick Panasonic DMR-ES46V ... I've read the discussions and have carefully followed instructions to clean (isopropyl) the spindle and rolled a Q-tip (isopropyl) over the laser, but it still displays a "no read" error.

My location is in the 95014 zip. Can you advise what range a service might cost, any "next steps", etc.? Any other advice would be appreciated (ship "to do / not to do").
Thanks for any help and suggestions,
    DenFer

    Hi,
I have researched this forum to help me with problems in the past but I have encountered a problem where I have taken it as far as I can.
My model is the DMR-E85H and my device powers on but doesn't function - the hard drive is not available and dvd won't eject.
Specifically, after plugging it in says ‘”Please Wait then Bye then Please Wait” quite quickly then basically nothing works but the clock.
Even Service Mode (“Stop, TimeSlip and Open/Close”) doesn’twork just says ”Please Wait then Bye” same with Disk Eject (“Stop and Channel-Up”).

Based on information in this forum, I had the PSU and power supply capacitors replaced by a professional, however the problem persists.

I suspect that my problem now is with the hard-drive.
    What do you think?
    Is my recorder repairable?

    Thanks

Hi Mick, I see that you are the person that can fix my Panny DMR-EZ47V. I would like to find out where to send it and how much it would cost. Getting the disk error when trying to record. Thanks, Barry
