Lovin' the new forum. Thought I'd try to start that DIY gallery thread, with component links and total cost. Maybe separate ones for subs and speakers? Best to keep it pictures and links and no questions (Use PM for that).
Anyway, here's mine. I call it "The Low End"
Design: Sealed
Enclosure: ~ 3 cu. ft. (20" cube minus bracing, etc.)
All thanks to a great wife and an understanding mother-in-law who lives above us. Just yesterday I told my wife about her association to my addiction and she just laughed at me, told me to be careful what I wish for when I ask for presents........I wonder if this will score me a 32" LCD.
I finally got around to taking a few pictures of my build. Thanks to everyone who helped with advise. It's basically from the plans on Rythmik's site. The finish is as you guessed, Rhino Liner.
Yeah, had a piece lying around from something my brother in law was doing in his car so I just said what the hay and used it in both subs as I didn't have to go get any extra wire.

What's that? I don't get out enough? Damn right I don't.
Who needs light and fresh air when you can sit in a darkened room coming up with evil plans such as these:

These ones will be getting underway this coming weekend. Eight Peerless XLS 10" drivers in sealed cabs with LT(Q=0.45 Fc=15hz), two bass arrays one per side to compliment the mains. EQ'd using software that's smarter than IBM's deepblue.
This is bass head central so I'll start up a thread to show the progress of these phallic extensions.
Thy if you read this, then yes this is stage one of the line array plan.

Scott & MJAudio I tried that look and it seemed to be trying to hard. The mains are quite pretty because of the proportions align, the same doesn't seem to happen with the sub cabinets.
I agree and unless really done properly actually detract from the sound (many people never even think of this) because of edge diffractions on the cabinet as well as having the fabric in front of the drivers....
I ended up putting black fabric around my mains since they were first done in a light oak and I didn't want to re-build the cabinets or strip and stain them black... I didn't make any frames for the fabric, just wrapped the speakers and actually stapled (standard staples for paper) into the wood and it has worked for years now.
I've been reading through this thread and would really like to see these speakers built by Shinobiwan that everyone is talking about, but they won't load for me! Is anyone else unable to view them?

Those are really nice speaker designs there, Shinobiwan. Are you going to design a center channel and surround speakers as well? I would like to see what a 5.1/7.1 setup of that set would look like.
Shin, maybe one of these day's I'll pick your creative brain on idea's on how to finish a 3-way TMW speaker enclosure. Creativity is not my strong point.
I don't know if he sells his speakers, but there are lots of companies that exist now that never did before the AVS forum. Lots of members have taken ideas they got on here (or knowledge gained) and ran with it and made their millions (well, maybe thousands).
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
