What's the difference between the 00 and 03 WB method? Is the 03 for HD?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but why did you have your gamma target set at 1.9 for the S2?

Why not 2.22 or something close to that?

P.S. is it my idea or the cyan point was way off on a calibration report you posted some time ago? It doesn't look THAT bad now (or maybe I don't remember well...
).

By the way, thanks for posting this.

Because the S2 is not capable of 2.2 and 2.2 is not the standard for gamma in the first place

That is a revised chart after I did additional tweaking.

Thanks D-Nice.

I'm expecting a 50G25 to arrive sometime next week. You've had the S2 for a little bit (Couple of week?!). When do you expect to get your hands on a G2X?

Look forward to reading your thoughts/impressions...

Pat E

I already have a G20. You will see any settings for that panel before next weekend.

Just for clarification, i presume the settings for the G20 would also pertain to the G25 correct?

Oh I always thought gamma should be set at 2.2-2.5. Isn't the point in calibrating the display to get as close as possible to a standard?

A gamma of 1.9 would make the display look very different to a display with 2.2-2.5, wouldn't it?

Maybe this is a bit off topic... sorry.

Yes it would look different (and it does). However, there still isn't a defined gamma target (aka standard gamma) for digital displays.

I presume that when using the SD Card into to display Evangelo's images, the Display Interval setting for the SD Card Slideshow should be set to "Slow" (for 30 second intervals just like the DVD has).

Correct and thanks Randy. I'll add that to the post.

D-Nice,

I see that you suggest to change the WB Method to 00 instead of 03. Can you expand on what this does exactly and if this is only for the S2?

This is the first I have seen that so I'm curious if this applies for the 12g panels as well? I own a 54V10 and I was recently entering offsets and mistakenly changed the WB method, I did correct it back to 03 but wasn't sure what effect this would have, if any.

Thanks

Can you tell me if ther is any difference between G20 and G25 that would make me want to wait for one or the other. I know bout cam feature in G25 thats not avail on G20 but other than that are they same TV? I am thinking about buying the G25 tonight since the store only has that model and not G20?

do you plan on purchasing another Panasonic this year?

(a 2010 model)

Nah. My 46G10 still looks great and so far my pattern is to buy a new Plasma every two years. I'm going to hold out for a 2011 TC-P46GT40

and do you still fly RC airplanes?

Yup. I just flew my SR-7 Slope Sailplane in some big stormy air last Sunday and had a blast (here's a pic of someone else's SR-7 for reference):

It allows one to calibrate Cool/Normal/Warm color temperatures independent of each other.

Yes.
