If you get desperate to get it to work (hey, I understand the wife wanting to watch Glee, believe me
), you can always grab a trial copy of AnyDVD HD from SlySoft's site and give that a whirl. It should remove all the stupid protection and hopefully allow it to work without too much fuss.

Thanks for the advice. I already have AnyDVD (lifetime subscription), but did not have it running. Using AnyDVD (after upgrading) and I can play the Blu-Ray with no issues.

I swear half the bugs in these players are protection related. The more protection you remove, the less chance of finding an "incompatible" disc IMO. BD+ being the biggest offender in that game. Remove it, and TMT no longer has to deal with it so any bugs it may have in the BD+ section of the code will be masked. Without it you're then waiting on ArcSoft support to get you a fix. That could be quick, or, it may not be.

While watching a BD using TMT 5, the audio cuts out and goes to extremely loud static whenever I hit the FF or Skip buttons. The only way to make it stop is to close and restart TMT 5. I can FF and Skip with no problems when watching SDVDs via folders structure.
Has the realtek driver always worked with tmt5? I know there were once issues with tmt3. What are the biggest issues with the realtek driver? I may try switching from the ati driver if I can live with the bugs.
Ha Ha!! Yes, now I have learned. I used to use it a lot when I only had component out and it would downrez regular DVD's. Now that I have HDMI, I didn't seem to need it as much. But, now, I have renewed appreciation for the software. The delayed disk startup time does not bother me. My attitude is more like.. Yes, AnyDVD.. do your work... good boy...
A bit late to the party, but as far as I've seen only the Xonar HDAV will bitstream DD+ and only with Blu-ray media. (ie. a case that almost never occurs in the real world and no idea if the conversion from HD-DVD to Blu ISO will work in this case though it theoretically could.)

I can't even use .144, had to regress to .143 as I kept getting freezes and shutdowns. Had to go back to the 2nd oldest firmware version and .143. Don't have TMT5 for a comparison though sorry.

I think in 1.6.1 he updated the HD DVD code, so, yea, give it a try again. I personally play the resulting MKV's with MPC-HC + ffdshow + haali so I get full bitstreaming with even the HD audio tracks. I keep hoping TMT will get updated to handle the same MKV playback that we get with *freeware*. sigh. Some day maybe.
OK so I got the MKVs working and even bitstreaming for the ones that have TrueHD. The DD+ ones I just use Multichannel PCM. Now I'm noticing a small amount of stuttering from the HD-DVD MKVs though. Just enough to be noticeable (mostly when the screen is panning). I don't get this on any of my Blurays. Does it have something to do with the fact that the HD-DVDs are VC1? Is there some setting I need to adjust?

VC1 has always been somewhat troublesome for me. I'm not sure if there's anything you can adjust or not. How are you decoding the VC1? ffdshow or mpc-hc? DXVA? Some other external decoder?

My setup is the Optoma GT720 DLP projector with 720p120 DLP Link 3D playback, ATI HD5570 (passive cool), Win7 64bit, cat 10.11, TMT5. Connection is 5570 DVI-HDMI to GT720 for video, 5570 HDMI-HDMI to Pioneer 23TXH receiver for bitstream HD audio.
For 3D playback, 5570 output 720p120hz to projector, and the projector will automatically switch on DLP Link 3D mode. For playback 2D content, I need to manually switch off 3D mode on the projector.
But few days ago, I tried config 5570 output at 720p60 to the projector for 2D content playback. That way I don't need to manually switch off 3D mode in projector.
But, once I start a 3D blu-ray in 720p60 mode, TMT5 (or the display card) will automatically switch to 720p120hz, and the projector also automatically switch on 3D, since the signal becomes 720p120hz. Once I stop the 3D blu-ray playback, my HTPC will automatically drop back to 720p60hz, and the projector also automatically turn off 3D mode. The whole operation seems very neat!
I never thought HTPC/TMT5 can do this auto resolution change depends on content! Nice!
Thank you very much for your response and sorry that I am just getting back to you on this topic.
For those of use with a an anamorphic setup (check the 2.35:1 CIH forum), when using a proper vertical stretch in combination with an anamorphic lens and 2.35:1 screen, there is no distortion at all.
So yes, when one uses vertical stretch on a 16:9 screen on 2.35:1 material, I agree, it look horrible. But our setups use scalded like those from DVDO and Lumagen to perform our vertical stretch. If TMT offered that functionality (stretch not zoom), it would be great.
I hope you can offer this feature in the future.
Kind regards,
T.Wells
i hope too that this feature will be included one day.
has anybody here managed to use TMT5 with an anamorphic lens? the window control is as far as i've tested not working, so programs like YXY or ARcontrol are useless at the moment. Any other chance to get this problem fixed?
thanks in advance
