Oh the pain begins...again.

The last 2 days have been insane. We gutted our 1200sqft basement to the studs, ripped apart my theater and I am moving it to a raw space. I will lose some size but gain control. My old room, 33x20 is the new playroom for my son and the forthcoming baby.

So the plan is in place, work has begun and the whip has been cracked. The Plaster and Dry Wall boys will be here Wednesday (6 days from now) as will all my new Gear....yes NEW GEAR

The room is to be as follows---

17x14 With Double Boarded walls filled with insulation and a generous amount of green glue between the boards. All seams caulked with acoustical caulk and the ceiling will be decoupled using RSIC Clips and Drywall Furring Channels.

I have carpet (Kain Carpet "Upper Class") and paint picked out, as well as seating.

Seating looks like it will be Bello HTS.

Gear will be-

JVC RS50 or 60

Screen is a dispute but I have a weird interest in the SI Black Diamond 1.4

Marantz AV7005

Emotiva UPA7

Sunfire Cinema Ribbon Trio On-Wall - CRS-3,CRS-3C

W/ Cinema Ribbon Bi-Pole Surround - CRM-2BIP

Sunfire True Subwoofer EQ 10

Ill upload some pre-insanity pictures tomorrow...

Any ideas or suggestions are more than welcomed, they are wanted!!!

We are thinking about these sconces --

Here is the room framing. I used quiet clips and furring channel to float the ceiling.

Here is the entrance after insulation

And more

Just to give some scope to my project--

OK so I am now finished with the double boards (5/1 and 1/2) that are green glued.

Wow, that is some heavy duty drywall!

Slow down, you're starting to piss me off.

You are making excellent progress. I can not really tell from the picture...how is the projector going to mount to those blocks? They appear to be up higher than the clips and channel.

Since I did the decoupled ceiling the blocking had to go a little higher than the hat channels. I know exactly where it is so regardless of the depth I will hit the blocking.

I always thought ribbons have narrow vertical dispersion. But I'm sure Sunfire figured that into the design of the surrounds. Makes me wonder if mounting them high will be a problem.

Nice looking speakers BTW.

They are gorgeous in person!

Actually I was told the design on these Sunfires have a wide dispersion...

Screen Wall

Back Left Corner and Entrance.

I am curious to know the screen size and distance from the wall for the top and right sides. I am trying to decide to leave space on top or bottom of the screen. Not sure how you are taking decision on it.
