Are any of you guys waiting for the film adaption of WORLD WAR Z? And what did you guys think of Marc Forster as the director ?

I can't remember what they called it in one of the interviews, but it was something like a fireman's axe. If BP uses that to put down his family upon return, then we may have something worthwhile...

I'm kinda sad this thing is gonna have a PG-13 rating. How can you make a zombie movie really effective with a PG-13 rating ? Lets hope that at least they can make it scary.

I would think that the success of The Walking Dead would make it difficult for this to be done as a miniseries.

Even with it's success TWD is pretty much a watered down version of the comic. If it was on HBO or Starz I think it would have been much better.

World War Z is the BEST zombie novel yet written.
We will have to wait to see how the movie is...

It is based on the novel of the same name by Max Brooks.

Agreed.....and so far the trailer looks nothing like what I was hoping/expecting. It looks like a great zombie movie - just not World War Z.

Not from what I can see. The studio clearly just took the book's title and threw out everything else.
I like the Carl Lewis kind of zombies.Quote:

Snyder's DotD re-make really benefited from it.
When they are molasses-slow, it's hard to believe they can sneak up on ya.
And disbatching 'em is too easy...even a kid can do it.
Well said, these are some of the reasons I like movies that break the mold a bit such as Pontypool and even Exit Humanity was pretty solid.Quote:

Only if he has the gun Shane gave him...
The thing I liked about the zombie genre was the allegorical potential. Romero had it with Dawn of the Dead, how we are trapped by our consumerism. I like the angle that modern society is filled with living zombies. People not paying attention to the world around us. How many times have I ran into a neighbor, or aquaintence, at a supermarket or seen them next to me waiting at a light and you can hardly get their attention because they are stuck in their own world or routine. We are so out to lunch, and physically challenged, we cannot even stop an apocolypse one zombie at a time. Zombies are the day to day burdens and pressures, if you don't pay attention to them they gradually build up - and then you are screwed.
Fast zombies are obviously more threatening, but to me, just a basic movie/action device, and easier to fall into a Resident Evil franchise lack of meaning crapfest.

High hopes, low expectations.
Not a fan of fast zombies but some of those shots were kind of cool. We shall see.
