Big news from the Batman camp in today’s L.A. Times: Christopher Nolan has revealed the name of the third film in his Gotham City trilogy. In July 2012, we’ll be queuing for The Dark Knight Rises.

Nah I think it's you who's off-base and out of tune there on your broken fender. Go and re-read the Machete thread if you can read you'll see the majority didn't like it either.

So many negative thoughts on the muffled dialog everywhere. Nolan has final cut, so Warner bros. cannot do a thing about this. One just hopes that when the film is tested, if the dialog is a problem, Nolan will not be thick headed about it.
I couldn't understand nearly all of Bane's lines in the 6 minute preview.

Based on the uproar, Nolan may very well tweak it a bit come summer....but I also understood Bane just fine in the trailer. Have not seen the IMAX preview.

Same here. It was grumbly, for sure but I heard what he said. Maybe if I had seen the preview scene and not the trailer I would know what all the fuss was about.

Yup I was right, you can't read or have comprehension issues. Go get someone to read for you this thread here at AVS where normal folks reviewed the movie ok not critics.
Eh... don't mean to diverge the thread off it's tracks but I was pretty disappointed with Machete and I loved PT and DP. Machete was far too preachy and not as fun as it was advertised to be. Well, it was kinda fun I guess.
Definitely not as 'cool' as the original Machete faux trailer lead us on to believe.
To further go off the rails on a crazy train, I liked Planet Terror, thought Death Proof was a yawn-fest (too bad because I like Kurt Russell) and Machete was the worst of the three.

I'd say personal viewing expectations not being met is right up there with nostalgia for reasons why people delude themselves into not enjoying a film (or TV show, for that matter).

I agree with that. I was expecting some serious grindhouse because of Machete's trailers and got standard issue superhero fare instead. Only the opening scene was worthy of the hype. Bah, humbug (well, 'tis the season...)

I had a hard time understanding what he said in the imax preview too. Either it was lost behind his mask or with the sound of the plane. He was just fine in the trailer.
When the imax preview was over I thought 'damn!..... oh..yes, that's right I'm here for MI4!"

My thoughts on the 6 minute preview... It was insanely frustrating to watch because of how hard the dialog was to understand. Yes, it was sensationally shot and edited and the production value was through the roof. Truly spectacular. But I understood so little of what Bane said, I was lost. Maybe that is good so that when the real deal hits next July, plot points won't be ruined. ??? Time will tell.
Bane's line in the official teaser trailer just released online is ok for me, though my wife had to listen to it three times before she got what he said.
This....... is........ a........ problem
By the way, POTENTIAL SPOILER HERE... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) Spoiler Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) is that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's face behind the Batman mask in one shot from the trailer?
On one level, it would be disappointing if we didn't understand most of what Bane was saying. On another level, the idea of a movie this big having such an indecipherable major character would be hilarious.
Since the nine-minute prologue to Christopher Nolan's Batman sequel was released on IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, audiences have complained that Tom Hardy's character sounds inaudible.
And yesterday, the Collider blog ran a story claiming that a new sound mix had been sent out to cinemas.
However, the site has now issued an apology after a Warner representative categorically denied the claims that there had been any tweak to the audio. It read: "I spoke to a representative from IMAX. They told me that they have not issued a new mix for The Dark Knight Rises, but some theatres have been sent the digital file that would have been played on an analogue system.
?"Again, they say this digital delivery does not change the way Bane sounds or any of the background noise. Needless to say, I'm sorry we posted something that appears to be inaccurate. Saying that, I've seen the IMAX prologue three times and I still struggle to understand what Bane is saying. It's a real issue."
Yet in a further twist, New York Times writer Dave Itzkoff has since suggested on Twitter that there may be more truth to the claims that the studio admits. After first writing that "Warner Bros say 'no truth' to reports of new Dark Knight Rises trailers going out with fixed Bane audio, he then retweeted a post from TheFilmStage: "Viewers have seen both and reporting that it is indeed a much cleaner version. Looks like they just don't want to own up."
The character of Bane breathes chemicals through a mask on his face which gives him super strength. Judge for yourself by watching the trailer above.
I read about that last night. Turns out multiple projectonists and other cinema workers are reporting an improved audio mix on a "newer version" of the trailer\\prologue, but the studio is denying any such thing exists.
