Cool, similar experiences.

I think that if you don't have a meter, you are better off just burning the AVS709 or using the Disney WoW, adjusting the basic settings, and not touching anything...

Just looked at the "calibration" and review by CNET. What a total joke, the guy should be embarrassed that he put that review out in the wild, it just shows how bad he is at calibrating. To have this...

Im way behind on this thread, geez. Way too much noise.

So for fun I put in Buzz's identical settings into my 70. Not that this should be surprising, but they looked and metered poorly. There...

I did not think of mentioning it because it sticks out like sore thumb, but yes, the 70 behaves the same way at 100% white adjusting the red from 11 to 12 gets a dramatic change. There were a few...

So it seems like you have run into the same "sun burn" issues that I have on the 70 inch. Whenever I would make the meter happy, my real-world viewing was compromised.

My metered red settings had...

That is my method exactly. The thing is, it makes sense to me that if I pick a flat 2.4 curve, I will need some serious 10 point help in order to achieve BT 1886, particularly at the lower end, which...

I don't think a single actual owner has talked about the scaler. There are a few random non-owners who want to piss on the set for made-up or trivial issues.
