I prefer that they take their time and fix as many things (w/o creating new problems) as they can.

Disclaimer: I'm not having any problems with my 203s.

One of mine is connected to a Yamaha CX-A5100 and the other to a Yamaha RX-A3050 with no noticed problems other than I have to wait longer before turning on the 203s after turning on the AVR/AVP. If...

FWIW, I had this same issue (nothing from the 203 to my receiver) until I started doing essentially what Bob suggests. I turn on the TV and the receiver and wait for them to come fully up before I...

All three of my 83s are still working fine, as is my 93, three 103s and 103d. I'm confident that Oppo will resolve the 203 problems that people are having as well (outside of occasional handshake...

This does beg the question for me...is there a standard for IR codes and are the carrier frequencies and codes controlled by some central authority that allocates them out? If not then I'm surprised...

No, I follow the 203 owner's thread here pretty close. Besides, the next firmware I'll want to install is the next Beta and it won't be one that the notifications work for. ;)

Well, let's see how the Oppo is doing 9 months from now. I would expect that there will be several more firmware updates between now and then.

I got tired of having to say NO whenever mine prompted me so I turned off the notifications. The 1229b Beta and the latest released firmware are identical so I didn't see the need to bother with it.

Yeah, I'm not so sure either. Why would the noises (pops) be there with my 7140 but not with the 2200s. If they are related to the unit doing the processing (my 3050) and unrelated to the 7140 then...

That sounds similar to what I get with my 7140 and my 3050. In my case switching from the 7140 to the two 2200s eliminated the popping. Given that, I'd say that even if the 7140 wasn't making the...

Problem with my 5100 system is that it's even more trouble to shuffle stuff in and out than my 3050 system. I may try a simpler test that is easier to setup if I can scrounge up enough parts.

That's a good point. I may try calling Outlaw but first I think I'll try three of my 2200s for the front channels only and see how that works out. I probably should have gone that route in the first...
