Ah .. misunderstood. Agreed, it should pass if PCM 2.0, but apparently does not when INPUT SELECT is used. Either your work around or connecting an analog cable as I suggested are your best options.

As long as the source is passing PCM 2.0 over optical, you're good to go, but if DD/DTS 5.1 is passed, then no go. Only mid/upper level models of all major brand AVRs can pass digital audio to Zone...

Correct. With dual subs, you can run Audyssey twice to dial in each sub connected separately to the sub pre-out 1 and then after doing so, connect the "Y" splitter and run Audyssey again a 3rd time.
