In my opinion, the Infinitys perform way above their $100 price point. When Stereophile reviewed them when they were $700 a pair, they were called a bargain back then. In blind listening tests,...

Will two sealed ultimax 18"s be proportional to NHT Supers? They will have some headroom beyond your speakers, unless, of course, you like your bass hot. It won't be that badly imbalanced though,...

I don't see passive radiators making a splash in ID subs. They are pretty popular among brick and mortar brands, or at least they used to be. Polk, Deftech, Velodyne, they used to have a slew of PR...

Personally I would try to make the stretch for the X4000 and double VTF3 mk5s. I think that will maximize your performance per dollar. That will give you one hell of a home theater. Also, and I don't...

The Infinitys go on sale for around 100 at Fry's pretty regularly. They do hit that price at Amazon here and there as well. I don't know how they compare to the HTDs really, but I would not trade...

If you are planning on running these things hard, I do think a dual Martysub setup should be placed on its own circuit. What is funny is that everyone is so concerned about pressurizing your room,...

Neither offer free trials, in that you have to pay for return shipping. Also the T-18 doesn't look that great, but I would take the PS18x.

No! They will outperform those companies that do offer trial periods. I would take a Rythmik sub over any of the companies that do offer free trials. They are a better performer and a better value.

Almost all the companies discussed here are manufacture direct, also termed internet direct. SVS can also be purchased at some Magnolia stores in some BestBuys.

Lol, yeah you are not quite reading that right. That measurement was taken at 2.83v, like one watt. At its full power handling, 1000 watts, on paper should it be able to do 120 dB.

With a $2k budget, you can do better than the HT18 driver. I would be looking at Dayton Ultimax 18s at the very least. The HT18 do give you a lot of bang for the buck though. As for the amps, for...

The F12 would be good in a small room and modest volumes. I would not get one for a large room. The E15HP would be good, but don't expect too much output at 30 hz and below, ie it will not have a lot...

The PA-150 should be able to outperform the JBL PB12. Neither is going to be a deep bass monster. As far as port noise is concerned, unless you really blasted music that has deep bass, it likely...

Once upon a time SVS had plans to release an SB16 Ultra. It became too expensive to manufacture though, thanks to the skyrocketing price of neodymium, so they didn't move ahead on that one. Here are...

The Klipsch THX subs are some of the very few they sell that are good, but the Reaction subs are terrific performers, much higher performing than the Klipsch THX subs, and much cheaper too.

There just isn't enough 10 Hz content out there to make it worth chasing anyway. Don't worry about 10 Hz if it looks like chasing it is going to break the bank.

Room volume is not that crucial, unless you are planning on pressurizing the entire area. Just look at what some of these subs can do at 2m groundplane RMS, you will get at least that in any room....
