Bandwidth is not the problem on wifi in theory. The problem with wireless is always interference. More so on 2.4GHz band than 5GHz band. Interference will cause dropped packets and re-transmissions....

Use the Game picture mode to reduce the lag. According to my teenage sons, this eliminated lag for them. I'm too old to experience it. But Game mode does help a lot.
