Ok, thanks guys, I hadn't seen anything but the single VOG, before, would this make it a polytheistic system? :D I guess many V's, one G. Something philosophical in there somewhere, I'm sure. We'll...

Unfortunately, I'll be limited to Atmos, VOG is my ceiling fan. I think either will be awesome in a well calibrated environment (room plus hardware) though.

Just to add, by doing the filtering at the analog stage, aren't you wasting amp power to generate what you don't need, and generating excess heat to get rid of it at the speaker? If Audyssey knows...

The notch being in the speakers seems to be a concession to speaker manufacturers. Well, I wonder how long before Parts Express or someone has that built into a crossover? Or maybe run a tone...

Hmm. Maybe Dolby will be a guest at a studio event? TBH, I haven't really followed previous CEDIA events, do studios do much release announcing here?

I think it's a little early to parse every word said. Subwoofers and bass management have been around for years, that won't change with Atmos. Dolby seems to be quite pragmatic in its expectations...

I'm glad to hear that wide dispersion speakers are still ok, I'm really loathe to give up my Mirage FRX omnipolar surrounds.

The thing is, won't the studios (who are in competition with each other for our butts in seats) be making their own announcements regarding Atmos titles? I'm sure we'll hear about many more titles in...

Here's a question, what receiver are you going to be replacing? I'm assuming that since you're playing in this level of receiver, you're replacing a unit that has pre-ins. If that's the case, you...

Out of curiosity, what size is your HT area? My room is roughly 13'w by 15.5'l by 9.5'h. I am playing with the idea of 7.1.4, but I'm thinking that may be overkill. I'd save $600 (plus two speakers)...
