DIY:
1) Cover with 2 layers of masking tape.
2) Use a good quality jig saw with a fine 32TPI metal blade.
3) Keep the shoe of the saw free of metal burrs....

It should be noted too that while Dirac is a great tool and produces very good results, a better, more accurate room tune can always be done manually. It's very time consuming and reiterative to do...

Never had one since the room was built in 2003. But I do feel the need for masking at time as I watch a lot of 4x3 stuff and don't like stretch modes. I have a 16x9 130in wide screen

My plan is...

First two questions:

1) What is your budget? This can be done with commercial broadcast grade gear but will be in excess of $500

2) What type of fiber is it? Multimode 50/125 or Single mode?

IIRC though, the VERA still used FM carriers across two or three stationary heads optimized for their frequency band?

RCA also had a longitudinal VTR during the mid 1950s that used half inch tape...

RE: Sample rate vs Frequency response:

There is a loose relationship which I think is where the confusion may be.

Due to Nyquist our sampling frequency must be 2x the highest audio (or other)...
