Your can run in Reference mode for gaming.. Just make sure you have Motionflow off and Film mode set to Auto 2 or off. This will get you minimum lag (26ms). None of the other settings matter.

Not sure a neutral white should look greenish, but my experience with Samsung plasmas has been full of uniformity issues where areas of the screen can look slightly pink or greenish.

If you have a relatively neutral screen Reference mode is pretty accurate. But otherwise the 40es isn't all that easy to calibrate without an external processor doing the heavy lifting.
