Yup as stated above. A conductivity test applies a DC voltage to the component and measures the current, a cap blocks DC current.

Sounds like the first SEOS driver isn't even connected. I have the UMIK-1 and it's great for this type of thing.

If it was that easy to remove the enamel off of the inductor wires with a soldering iron than you could never reliably solder any inductor.
