You don't need 24" drop unless you are mounting the screen to the ceiling. You want space behind the screen for your TV's, right ? So you just screw a 2x4 to the wall at whatever height you need...

Question Inexpensive scaling ?

Many inexpensive 1080P projectors now include simple zoom or vertical 33% stretch functions.

If you are height limited rather than width limited, you might consider a 2.35 screen and use the 100" size for TV and non-scope movies, but have that large height and width for scope movies.

With...

You can go back 18' with the 131xe, but your screen must be 135" diagonal or larger.

A 135" tab tensioned screen should be viewed from no closer than 10' and because it is tab tensioned, it...

A digital zoom just means zooming in on a portion of the image, so you actually see less than the full 1920x1080 pixels, not making the entire image larger.

Zooming the entire image from the...

"Since the Sony doesn't have pixel gap" sure sounded like "zero gap" to me.

I apologize for the minor sarcasm on an owners thread, but I didn't want non-LCoS readers to get the impression that the...

Well, my walls are neither straight, flat, nor smoothly textured, so I don't think I'd be happy painting a screen directly on them.

I think I'll hedge my hedge and build it with FlexiWhite, then...

That's good to know. I am still not sure if the FlexiWhite is going to be enough gain when I build my second, larger screen. But it appears to be a good substrate for painting, so if I need more...

Is FlexiWhite best for off-axis viewing ?

I am considering adding a second screen to my setup -- building a 52"x127" for a 138" 2.4 ratio.

Even though I will have good (not perfect) light control, this may be too large for my 750 lumen...

The W1070/HT1070 is the only one of those you listed that can actually fill a 120" screen from 10' throw. The Optomas all have longer lenses and from 10' the largest 16:9 image would be 92", which...

Thanks Roberto, the vertical stretch looks good. Was this a paused image ? It doesn't seem so. Either that or there was some horizontal cropping of the image in the second pic.
