The distinction between ID (can we just call it what it is: manufacture direct) and store brands is not all that clear. After all, you can get Velodynes from their website now, and I am sure they are...

I agree that CEA2010 is not the end-all and be-all of subwoofer performance. However, I do believe that a full battery of testing of different aspects is enough to determine whether a subwoofer is...

The UCA222 and UCA202 should be nearly the same. You could try to exchange a 222 for a 202 if you wanted, there wouldn't be any functional difference as far as I know. I am just hoping the problem is...

On the occasions I have seen Rels measured, the results were astoundingly bad. Rel are harmonic distortion generators at anything over modest loudness levels. And that is about what you would expect...

OK, in that case it does not look like a ground loop. It could be some kind of electromagnetic noise is getting into the UCA222. That is a shame. I don't know what to do about that except to call...

I don't quite agree with you on that point either. Larger speakers tend to be more sensitive, and so uses less current for the same amount of output. Smaller speakers do not do as well with low power...

That power output is pretty much in line with every other amplifier of its price range. If you know of a surround sound AVR that does significantly better, tell us about it.

Why do you think Denon and Yamaha have poor amplifiers, wit respect to their equally priced competition? I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest that is the case.

The VTF15h will surely have more output. However, if you are willing to go overbudget for a monster sub, the VTF15h is a beast. Brent Butterworth has measured both subs, PB2000...

I spent some time with a Rythmik FV12, which is a lot like the LV12 except that it was front ported, and I compared it to an LFM-1 EX that I had on hand. I did level-matched, immediate A/B switching...

If you can go DIY, that would, of course, be a much better value. If you are not prepared to do that and just want to keep it simple, for your criteria, I would go with a Hsu Hybrid 3 5.1 package...

All of these sub manufacturers charge for shipping. Any of them who say they don't is lying. If you believe them you have been duped by a thin marketing tactic. No one ships a large 100 lbs box for...

You may not have to resort to extension cords. First you have to figure out what is causing the conflict. It will be a device using a three pronged plug. The circuit will not be restricted to the...

I have to look up a few things, but I am guessing that the hum is a fight between the speakers and something else that wants to determine the ground voltage. This sort of thing can crop up with...

Some questions:

Does the hiss depend on the volume level, ie if you turn the gain knob up on the monitors, does the buzz get louder?

Is the buzz there even when the monitors are disconnected...

I can't say for sure about the B2031A, but the B2031p sound fine to my ears. I wouldn't get them over a pair of MR8 mk3s though. The 2030 and 2031s are really just reverse engineered clones of first...

95 dB is well above the norm, yes it is high sensitivity. Klipsch over-rates their sensitivity specs badly, and the RB-61s are probably not even close to 95 dB. The RB-81s were measured at 91 dB, and...
