I remember watching Divergent and thinking my JVC must need re-calibration because the banding was just ridiculous. I don't think you even need particular scenes, it's everywhere from what I remember.

I use this receiver as my HDMI switcher. With my PC, I am no longer able to use GPU Scaling on my Nvidia graphics card, and I can only assume the Denon is the culprit since it used to work with my...

Having a "theater...

Klipsch RW-12d "fluttering" sound on low stuff

I was discussing this in another thread but figured I had done enough derailing of that one.

My Klipsch RW12d makes a fluttering or flapping sound on the low stuff. Basically anything below 50hz...

I use Dynamic EQ, yes. I've also tried with it off. I do not have a mic so have not measured my response.

Calibration was with Denon 4520's Audyssey XT32. -6 does not sound too high for 99% of all content although high end can be a bit harsh (Yes, CM4s). But lower than that makes most movies very...

You're right, the other subs are sealed, although I think it's an amp or driver issue since it did it even with the speaker out of the enclosure.

Volume for me is usually -6 (as indicated by the...

Data-bass doesn't have anything on the RW12d, apparently. The whole thing admittedly seems counter-intuitive to me -- I can crank a movie with the Dayton Sub1200 or my little Atlantic Technology, and...

Yeah, it's a bummer. It's in my theater so turning it down isn't really an option -- we'd rather have some occasional flapping (albeit usually at key moments) rather than anemic bass the other 95% of...

I've been going crazy lately with port chuffing from my Klipsch RW12d with the really low stuff. Scenes are kind of ruined by the fluttering sound coming from the sub (nuke in Godzilla's opening...

YPAO with crossovered rather than discrete sub?

I got a Denon 4520 for the theater and retired my old receiver. The Denon gets HDMI from the HTPC; the main zone is the theater, with zone 4's HDMI output being the tv in the living room. I have...

He said he wanted less gain, darker blacks, and less artifacts. BOC would provide less gain (.8 to .9); darker blacks obviously go hand in hand with that; and the surface is smooth and neutral enough...

How about the Polk TSi200s? How do they compare to the Pioneers, Primus, Sony? Merely asking out of curiosity; Fry's show them as $65/pair (!!!) right now but they're in-store only so a no-go for me.
