I use the e-shift when I zoom for 2.35:1. I have it set to 30,30,30,0 which seems to be enough to add a little detail, but not to exaggerate noise. When I zoom back for 16:9 I have the e-shift off,...

I confess I read your screenshots over breakfast and didn't have my reading glasses on, which explains why I read 0.8 rather than 0.3. :o

I don't know if the Denon (which one?) allows you to have...

Just had a look at your screenshots and as you say they look pretty good mostly. I see that you've set the absorption for the walls, ceiling and floor to .8 in some cases, so I guess that this is why...

Thanks for the response Mark.

I'm not using a lens now, so it is the shrink method (ie resolution reduced to approx 1400 x 810 in a window) that I need not HS or VS. Plus I'm not bothered about 3D...

I've seen a 55ES, own an X35 and recently bought an X500 so I can add a few comments:

1. The X500 is no brighter than the X35. I even swapped the 620 hour lamp from my X35 to the X500 and it...

Incase it can't, do you recall if the DVDO Edge can do shrink or not? I have the...

I'll give that a try later, I usually avoid 'normal' but will see how I get on. Going to be a shock going back to using a disc for patterns though, so I won't spend too long trying all the...

That's a tough call...The X75 has 50% higher native on/off contrast, but doesn't have the dynamic iris that the X500 has, which gives an even higher on/off contrast (and much deeper fade to black)....
